Of course they will be unbearable, insufferable and expectations will be let loose that will be beyond all sane human expectation. Steve Bruce’s new coaching role will be driving the youth team coach.
The ‘North East meeeeja’ will be ejaculating fantasy scenarios ...it’s gonn a be hell.

Whilst there is only one team for me,Pools, I like all north east teams (apart from Darlo) to do well. Now hopefully we can have a top team in the area.

I’ll be blunt. I support Pools. I’m a Poolie fundamentalist, I couldn’t give a toss about having a ‘top team’ in the North East, because I’ve already got one.
If they do become a top team, they’ll Hoover up everything in sight, ...and the ever fawning gullible will latch on to them to bask in their reflected ‘glory’....aka big screen fans
That said, it’s Newcastle...... I’d imagine if the Lord God Almighty, King of Creation, took them over and used his unlimited powers to influence their performances on the pitch, it could go tits up. It’s Newcastle.

Odd then that you started a new thread about Newcastle

I feel the same about Pools, but don't have any particular reason to want all of the silverware to keep going to the same handful of super rich clubs in London and Lancashire, especially after they were all involved in the Super League stitch up.

I'll still watch Match of the Day most weekends, and if the likes of Leicester and Newcastle win a few baubles that are out of the reach of Pools, so be it. Winning promotion back to League One will do for my bucket list.

It massively boils my piss.

Our game is dying slowly but very surely. It started with the FA allowing the Premier League to even be formed and the game has got worse ever since.

The money is killing competition which is, of course, exactly what they want.

For me, because Pandora's box has been opened, there's no going back so they can all fuck off, create a Euro Fuckwits Money Grabbing Fuckers League and leave the rest of us to have a game with real competition.

not nice people.

Nothing odd at all, ..... If a plane full of nuclear bombs crashed into the Marina I’d report that too, but I wouldn’t approve of it happening.... very similar thing really, long term effects.

Maybe my memory is jaded, but weren;t there similar scenes at St James when Mike Ashley took over

Drinking beers with the fans in the stands

expectations of big spending

It all went pear shaped not too long after. sctatchinghead

More big players at NUFC, less time for average ones, theyll need loaning out, it'd be great if a certain club with blue white stripes could take them on loan...

That's right, Willington A.F.C!

The trouble with Newcastle seems to be that phrase ‘up where we belong’, because there really is that aura of belief in their own magnificence that they just can’t seem to lose from their mental make-up.

Becoming an established league one club again would do for me.
Then once in a while maybe a play off encounter or get to the 5th round of the FA Cup.
Other similar sized clubs do it.

spot on. there will be bar codes all across the country now with television fans boring their mates to death about their geordie heritage which will be basically be changing trains there on the way to whitley bay. next thing one of them will find a cure for every disease known to mankind and their demands for westminster to be moved up tp gods own land will be seen to happen.

Off the back of this - as much as its a coup for the North East (Im of opinion that its great for the North East due to it not being a southern club) i hope we see Newcastle be more generous and loan out more of their youth players to the likes of Pools. If anything it could be more beneficial for us also with many U23 lads now not getting a sniff at all once the Galacticos come along and more Jamie Sterrys being released for us to sign.

Man City haven't helped Bury, Oldham or Salford much and I don't think we'll get much help from the Toon. Still it will be interesting to see how many points adrift they will be before the transfer window opens in January. There will be some panic buys/loans and they might still go down.

It won’t make a blind bit of difference, we never appeared on their radar in the past.
They might loan us Steve Bruce’s shorts.. with a view to signing.

pools have had far more ex players from the bigger 3 north east clubs than any of the small lancashire clubs have had help from either of the two manchester clubs. good thing or not i,m not totally sure after a few pools have had in the past.

I'm more interested in what happens tomorrow at the VIC but I would like to offer a few of their potential rejects a job at Pools (with the exception of Bruce).

I always think the fans of these faded Premiership clubs trying desperately to get up with the top boys would welcome anyone provided they could splash the cash and give a hint of glory.

Agree - The North East has alot less League teams as Lancashire has to share the spoils of their local Prem clubs U23's etc. Although not appearing on their radar much in the past i feel we where in bed with the Boro too much due to past managers connections etc... DC era is a big change and im hoping somehow we can build bridges with our wealthy Neighbours. Brucey as DC's number 2 heard it here first.

Former Chelsea boss Frank Lampard and Rangers manager Steven Gerrard are in the frame to replace Newcastle boss Steve Bruce, who says he expects to lose his job.

Ambitious as ever Eh! Lampard ? You have to laugh.

actually with all the money available those two could possibly do a good job. saying that they,ll go for the biggest name available with a name only a few of their fans can actually pronounce. pity jim smith is not still alive as his name would be perfect for them.

Over the years since Keeeeeeeegan and Sheeeeeeeeearer, the number of assorted Newcastle shirts has dwindled, once a plague like shitting starlings, everyone with a need bought one....but as the shirts faded then rotted on their backs the streets became barcode free..... the blight was lifted, the sun shone, children played and the skylarks sang in joy etc, etc, etc,
But a cloud as dark as the Devils armpit is forming to the North, a well known shirt retailer near you is stocking up furiously to meet demand...the end is nigh

Watching the ‘throng’ on Tyne Tees news tonight...... they looked like people liberated after a murdering despot had been deposed and they had freedom at last after decades of abuse by the secret police. I was waiting for the traditional act of a giant statue of Ashley being toppled by a radged crowd of downtrodden victims, waiting for them all to start singing ‘The With is Dead’ and form a giant locusts like conga and descend on bars and drink em dry.
Comedy gold watching some of the local MP’s and Council Leader trying to mix oil and water.

The TV cameras were there today in the cold light of day, like pilgrims turning up at some footballing shrine they were asked who the new owners were, the answers were to put it mildly .... a bit vague.
Just a thought, but does every Newcastle fan publish their own fanzine?

I do feel sorry for Steve Bruce though, because he’s been a kicking bag since day1.
I never really knew why he got the job, caretaker I suppose, while negotiations took place, but he was a strange choice. But give him his due, he kept his dignity and tried, but it was obvious he didn’t match up to the standards of the world’s best fans (ask them they’ll tell you they are) and never would, they needed a BIGGGG name.
Looks now like Champagne money, lemonade ideas.

Lindisfarne inspired me with some of their hits.....
I’d heard the Geordies are humming Smug on the Tyne, because they’re on the Road to Kingdom Come now guided by a Clear White Light so there’s No Time to Lose so let’s hope they’re Together Forever but I want to know if the Geordies will still be asking themselves Why Can’t I be Satisfied
