This could be the Title decider, never thought I'd want Chesterfield to win a game but tonight I'll make an exception, unless Boreham Wood go on a good run, could be interesting to see how that shit league works out.

Could be an interesting next hour or so. The Cheaters 2-0 up after 21 minutes.

Game ends 2-2. Borehamwood still very much in that title race by the way. Race to the finish in that horror show of a division.

2-2 courtesy of a Chesterfield sending off early in the second half!

No way anything was getting decided tonight though, there's way too many games left. Last season it felt like things changed for the top 3 or 4 with every weekend's results. Can't see it being any different this time. Challinor's team is top but others have games in hand - it's Deja Dave time!

Are Chesterfield the king's of bottling or something? Bottled that FA Cup semi (?) against an average Middlesbrough. Bottled their league status with a huge stadium and budget, Bottled the Notts playoff game with a huge budget, and now tonight!

It’s really tight at the top of the National League and any illusion that Challinor was merely shepherding Stockport unhindered back into the League would be a bit optimistic to put it lightly.
Any team that finds that golden run of form this month could go up and Stockport’s run has taken them to the top, but all runs lose steam eventually and getting Stockport to the top marks them out as the team to be beaten, time for a not so dark dark horse on the margins to barrel through. We did!

B Wood gunna make a small fortune from 45% of Goodison Park FACup receipts.
Is it still no transfer window in non league?
Can sign anyone which could be a major gamechanger to challenge The Mighty Stockport.

can see BW running out of steam with a fixture backlog. they are still in that trophy thing and could end up playing tuesday, thursday saturday. could just as easily drop out of the play off positions as they could win it.

the beauty of that league - its one and only is the fact there isnt a transfer window - a team with money now can literally have pickings of the best of the bottom 10 teams who are too out of sight. there is always a good few players kicking about in those sorts of teams. Lincoln and luton did the same sort of thing im sure when they got promoted from the NL. Due to budget we didnt really have the chance but it didnt matter in the end.

im hoping a Halifax or Bromley do what Pools did last season - still plenty of time yet and i wouldnt right off the daggers just yet either.

think the state of the halifax pitch could hold them back unless they play a long ball game. rugby started las sunday and they left it in a mud bath. their game was postponed on saturday but rugby was played the day after even with the rain hardly stopping.

lot depends on the regular weather places get. rochdale will have the same problem once their rugby team starts their season. halifax and rochdale must be two places where those living there fear a drowt if rain does not fall for 2 days on the trot.

I really can't see Dave Challioner staying in the lower leagues for long, he's clearly a very good manager and should be snapped up by a Championship club in the next couple of seasons. Obviously not premier league as he's not a member of the consistent failures club.

Not a chance as you can pronounce his name and never managed in the dutch or spanish under 18 leagues. He is as fashionable as wearing flares or a winged coller.

Without a doubt should he bring Stockport up - Wrexham will want him and probs pay for him too. Hes the go to guy for promotion at that level. No doubt the suiters will run out eventually has his wage bill will be touching on a Prem salary but its probably at that point he then does take a Championship offer from someone newly promoted looking to steady the ship.

To be fair we brought in Armstrong who must have been on substantial wages and his goals made all the difference to our season.

thing is that apart from a few months at pools he has no league experiance whatsoever. it would be a massive gamble even for a div.2 club to appoint him on the money he is getting now never mind one higher up the leagues. like players, managers cannot do it above a certain level even when they get the chance.

Nice 10k crowd to watch NL refs ruining a game again. I bet you don't miss that. County had a clear cut penalty ruled out (apparently ref told DC that it was a foul but he didn't think he was going to get on the end of the cross anyway???) and a goal that crossed the line ruled out. The assessor must have spoken to him at half time because he decided to even things out with a questionable red.

Keep your rest view mirror well polished, because as the finishing line comes in to sight, the pack starts biting lumps out of yer backside.

We'll be back in second come 5pm Saturday. Still 17 to play. We came from 10th to 1st in 14 league games so I'm excited to see how the run in pans out.

at least you are totally correct this time out by what i have heard. was the ref one of those child refs we also had to suffer last season.
