Don't use the Bridge Vet Group, especially the branch in Middlesbrough.

I hear good things about Jacqui Patterson's, but I'm not sure if they have a Hartlepool branch. I'm also currently looking for a new vet but more Aycliffe/North Tees area.

I've also heard a lot of vets are full at the moment and won't take on new pets (yet might do emergency appointments).

Clifton Lodge for me too. Moved there years ago from Bridge after they were bought out and bumped up the prices.

if you have a big dog avoid vets4pets. took my rottie/dobermann cross their once whilst stopping at crimdon dene as they could see her straight away. she is a very friendly dog but they were scared of her and insisted she was muzzled. could not wait to get through the examination as quickly as possible but at least their charges were more reasonable than the one i use back home.

Ah muzzles..... told Mutley years ago about my experience with a rather savage dog and it’s demise and he called me ‘Dog Strangler’ on the board....lead to some rather repetetive questioning for a few weeks about why I did it. banghead :angry-tappingfoot:

Fixed me lionboys foot when he stood on a hedgehog and cured me pantherdaughters gallstones with apple cider vinegar years ago.
They 9 n 10 years old now n still fit as fiddles.

and you also saved a fortune. nothing new about inflated bills either. years ago my sisters labrador was in pain. went to the vets and was charged what worked to as 50p a pill for some. she had one alalised by a chemist who came back with the fact they were the same as you could get from the corner shop for twenty odd pence for a container full.

I was told going to a vet only 4 things can happen.
It gets prescribed antibiotics.
It get prescribed steroids
It gets better on its own.
It dies.

after borrowing 3 grand to pay the bill for cancer treatment for my old dog as my insurance only paid the first 3k and only got 12 weeks out of him i,d think twice again before going again for long expensive treatment even for my malamute/husky cross who never leaves my side literally.

Funny you say that, I contacted a company who supplied us with monitoring equipment to ask for a small 50ml plastic container of special probe cleaner compound. The girl I normally contacted for orders didn’t seem her usual cheery self and told me it was her last day as the company had been taken over and all staff made redundant, to be replaced with family members of the new buyers..... I offered my condolences and when she asked if that was all I wanted she said don’t bother buying it, that ‘special’ cleaner you’re paying £27 for is just Jif.
