From what I remember it was a tight game but a fair result - despite the debatable penalty!

wonder how that 2009 team would fair in the current League 2. Reckon we would piss it just with the quality we possessed in midfield. Then Joel Porter up top. what a team.

Who was that dreadful central defender, No5, that gave away both goals?

Who was the regular poster on here at the time (but not now), who said Porter would never be a footballer.... the user name escapes me.

may have to spend a few hours searching the archives of 2008/09 campaign posts for that one snowy

just to add... interesting to see how many attacking players where brought in, in winter transfer window at that time. Take a quick look on the season stats on Wiki. looking at it the club was lacking front men back in that time too.

He was a right miserable scrote........ aaaaaaaaaaaalways moaning. I think he regarded failure as a target, must have banged his head on John Gills boot in the Olden Days.

true, but i do not think the last relagation side would have gone down either in this seasons league. possibly they,d be about the same as we are now even with jones about.

The league that year must of been some standard - just looking back at the players we had at our disposal. Dear me forgot how strong upfront we where - Paddy and Paynter up top - Thomas - Allessandra - Oates was in that team too (albeit not the same Oates we seen last season). Then we had the likes of Liam Donelly and Woodsy (on a good day) . Some of those lads id have back in the side today and rightly so would probs walk into the side too.

also one thing to point out is we had Goals coming from all over the Park in that side - Paddy finished the season on 14 and Thomas and Allessandra on 9 - Oates managed 5 and Paynter considering his injuries that season still got 4. Few from the midfield too. Impressive return which i dont see any of our players this season mustering up those numbers.
