In the absence of this thread I thought I had better kick it off. Can we beat the mighty Stevenage? They are starting to show some form and are unbeaten in the last three. I think we may well get beat tomorrow. 0-1 is my prediction.

As usual two poor teams. Stevenage passing much better than Pools.

Neither side creating much.

True! When you are in the top half of the table seeking playoffs/promotion, a home draw is a poor result but when in the bottom half wanting to avoid relegation every point is most welcome.

Pretty much controlled the game and they offered virtually nothing which makes the result more disappointing. Our lack of cutting edge is a major major problem, it needs addressing this week and we need some quality forward players in before we do get sucked into a relegation fight. Problem is will we actually bring some in!!?

I've given up on the idea of us getting anything resembling decent now. Sounds like we maybe need someone with money to take over the club in the near future. This club would take off with some serious investment.

Get the feeling they are just praying Burey is allowed to come back. Also heard we are talking to langstaff at Gateshead, not the experienced forward we are craving. Keep shopping non league we will end up back there.

I have my doubts about Burey coming back. I noticed he was on the bench for Millwall today and came on for a decent amount of time.

It was another hard watch. Dreadful first half, which is becoming the pattern. Pools were better in the second 45 but to be honest when we went behind to the penalty I thought Stevenage were going to nick all the points.

The crowd is sick of watching a 2 man attack that lacks pace, height and power trying to make headway against 3 or 4 big, reasonably mobile defenders. Pools are dead easy to play against at the minute, even for rank bad sides. It's becoming so stale and predictable that even the North West Corner is losing heart. Thankfully going 4-4-2 after Stevenage's goal paid off.

Stevenage were probably the worst side I've seen us play this season and the fact we couldn't beat them speaks volumes. Personally don't think we played all that bad but it's just the final 3rd where we look clueless, persisting with a winger up front doesn't help. Surely giving grey or fela a few games is worth a try or.....sign somebody!!

The Potential to take Pools forward given our fanbase is Deffo there.
We live in hope.

they were so bad that they were on a 5 match unbeaten run. shows you can do that in this league even if you are bang average at best. you are right about grey and fela where we looked far better once they did come on. playing decent football is fine as long as you have some goal threat and players willing to take a risk sometimes and not playing the easy pass. please lets find the big bust;ing lad up from that opponents fans hate plus a mid fielder like their number 14 who won everything in the air for 90 minutes.

Again their 14 did what we havnt all season and longer tbh. How many times have we cried out for this man. Changes games and also wins them. Had it not been for him in the middle of the park for them we would of cut them open alot more. Just unfortunately for us we didnt have Holohan on one of them games where he bursts past his man. Never mind am sure this week we will see 3/4 new players. Fela needs to start next game. Actually wants to take a man on. Cullen doesnt do any of it.
Grey needs to be on earlier if he isnt starting aswell. Could of won that game yesterday

Stevenage brought in a manager & four players in with plenty of league experience.
That's the reason thay have picked up of late.

He may have brought in 4 experienced players but to be honest I am still of the opinion from what I saw that they were no better than Pools.

there defence looked quite firm and the centre of midfield. however that is not hard when teams play pools. it must be a holiday for players marking small lightweight lads for a change. for actual football pools were the better side but were against oldham and scunthorpe as well as bristol by the sounds of it. problem is you do not get points for being the best looking side on the pitch.

lets see what this week brings - expecting some Arsenal youngsters to walk through the door and the U23 sub GK from Man utd

He won't be happy here either sat on the bench waiting for Gav to get injured.

Accrington, Stevenage defence was solid and central midfield but so was ours. Let’s be honest Killip had an afternoon off and but for the penalty they would not have scored. I’m sure if Lee had made four signings we would have beaten this Stevenage side out of site. Just my opinion, and to be honest I have a lot of respect for Tilsdale he is a good experience manager)7

I actually dreamt that Ronaldo asked to be loaned out to Pools for the rest of the season. The reason he gave was to give the club time and space to decide where they wanted to be with the manager's job. He also said he was a big fan of Meat Loaf and he applauded what Meat Loaf said about supporting Pools. He hinted at his wish to manage a lower league club perhaps with financial involvement just to see how far he could take them.
Stranger things have happened but not much stranger.

i said this the other day haha ! nice little chunk of cash - can see it now. Players come onto the field to one of his smash hits. Meatloaf stand is in full chorus chanting "ill do anything for Love" . Large Bust of the man in the lounge draped in a Pools top.

there finishing was worse as they created better chances which i,m sure pools would have scored from. as for paul tisdale, i met him once and he is a top bloke to speak to and a gentleman. unlike some of the snarling rottweilers doing his job.
