They beat us in the league Cup in the Cardiff season so it's us out for revenge.

Hmm not the sort of draw to set the pulse racing. We will get hammered and the crowd wont be particularly massive. Anyway we got to the 4th round for only the 7th time in our History and earned a few quid so not time to be despondent.

Not much chance of being a tv game as they were on versus Millwall yesterday.

25'000 capacity and we're entitled to 3750. Not going to be enough.

Pre covid an average attendance of 25k.
Boils my piss that itv pundits never mentioned Pools even though Ian Wright played for Palace.
I can't help thinking this is deliberate.

I thought the home club had to provide 25% Wasn't that why we had 10,000 at the Stadium of Light?

Anyone know how much we will make out of this in the hope we can get the potholes filled behind the Mill House stand.

Can't see us taking 3000 to London for a game at palace.

No chance of us taking that many. The worst PL ground by a mile, and a team who dive so much they make Tom Daley look average.

Pools must be cursed. Even the "good" cup draws are still shite.

Quarter of a million in ticket money:-
18000 attendance - complete guess.
£45 a ticket - complete guess.
Don't we get 45% of that which comes to £360,000 'ish.

Minus a bit for season tickets/concessions and shit maths comes to a lot of lowra.

I think Palace will sell out but if they don't we should be offered as many as we want. I reckon we could take more than our guaranteed minimum.
If the tickets average £15 the take would be 25000 X 15 =£375,000. 45% of that would be £168,750. That is not a bad payday.
Pinch it 1-0 and add another £90,000.
Yippee.

Great draw for me as I should have been a palace fan by right as it was my local team and who all my family support. I had a season ticket a few years back. agreed it is not a great ground by PL standards but I think there will be a decent atmosphere even if they don't care much about us. Zaha is a whinger but he's at the AFCON. They tend to get around 10k against weaker opposition in the cup so it's not a disaster, especially if we can swell the attendance a bit.

The only downside for me is its my stag do weekend so I'm in the Peak District. and two of the people coming are Saints and Coventry fans and they've drawn each other. So the timing is a shocker.

BBC also ignore pools yesterday except for the highlights on MOTD which was entirety edited by and commentary by Radio Tees which was quite good to be honest.

45% of10000 X £15 is £67,500 so much for my earlier estimation.

Seeing that a foreign TV company had bought the rites to televise the game, I was surprised we were on MOTD.

Good news about Saha, I had horrible visions about what he would do to Lidds and co. Palace have plenty of classy players so I'm hoping their manager will be over confident, rest first teamers and play a bunch of youngsters.

Burey played for Millwall yday against Palace. Does that mean he would be cup tied even if we got him back?

I wondered why they didn't show the disallowed goal and Fondop's miss.

Must admit I was really hoping for a Liverpool or man utd who would sell out regardless of opposition and it's not the arse end of London!. Plus we've played them before in my 32 years watching pools. We always manage to miss the big boys.

Appreciate this. I feel the same way. However… the giant killings have to end somewhere and seeing that unfold at Palace is definitely better than Plymouth / Cardiff etc. There was a lot worse in that for us.

12000 palace maximum + 3000 poolies maximum.
Our cut of gate about 100k
Could of been worse or better.

Here's another thing to think about, Chelsea and Palace are about 7 miles apart.. can't see the Met allowing both games on Same day, plus Spurs at home to Brighton! However I could be wrong. We will see.

Plymouth and Cardiff you could say we had some sort of chance, we have never beaten a premiership team away and then to get palace on top of that, it's nothing short of another dreadful draw for us.

if youre looking at the fa cup for top v bottom clashes....as is the traditional perspective...then yes the two non league sides the wood and kiddy will attract your interest in this round...but i dont see anyone else behind these two other than us....league 2 against a premiership side...but it will make no difference at the bbc.... and we will get next to zero coverage....any we do get will be tinged with the usual patronising bias shearer is famous for...what was he like the last time that goon was at the vic...cheering on blyth spartans against us ? :angry-steamingears:

Palace fan here. Come the day of reckoning you'll be up for it - you know you will !
You'll have c. 4,000 tickets and I'm sure you'll sell the lot.
Where you'll be, will be the Arthur Wait stand which they tend to close for home supporters for friendlies. But I think the interest will be there and we should see c.15-17,000 Inc your support.

I wouldn't discount TV either, it's ripe for an upset.

Oh and Vieira wants a good cup run, so it won't be a weakened team and seeing how we struggled against Millwall yesterday it'll be an interesting afternoon.

I hope you guys and gals come in your thousands and enjoy the mecca of South London football that is Selhurst Park!

I think we need to tell the BBC we have a Conservative MP and then I am sure we will get wall to wall coverage.
Does anyone know who can surgical remove this chip from my shoulder?

Ideally we need 4/5k ticket allocation and Palace fans to turn up the tune to at least 17/18k minimum for them for us to see any sort of great cash reward from ticket sales.

I have no doubt pools will sell their allocation easy. Especially if its a measly 3k.
Hoping it is more like 4/5 though. Aslong as its not a friday night game then im sure the Palace turn out will be a decent one. Then on the plus side we always have that chance of actually winning the game. Funny owld game

Sorry not used to the way posting on here works...

Not sure if this is a duplicate post...

I think on reflection you may have more than 4k tickets. We can be generous but won't want to give you any advantage that means you erode our "famous atmosphere" !

Personally I've always kept and eye on Hartlepool results...why ? Who knows ...a childhood thing.
(Along with Exeter.) Glad you're back in the EFL. clappp

(Along with Exeter.) Glad you're back in the EFL. clappp

Cheers let's hope the allocations increased.
I know of a lot of poolie exiles in the London and surrounding areas so it's not just residents of Hartlepool who will be looking for a ticket.
Can you tell Patrick

The last time we were in the 4th round at Brentford didn't we take 1500 or so? I think taking 3500 plus to South London is unrealistic.

Official website says it is the quarter final draw!

I must have been in a coma since round 3 and it is brilliant that we have finally got beyond round 4.

Either that or the error strewn website has just got another addition!

The people who make sports programmes for TV love an odd fact or two, so Pools being unbeaten in the FA Cup against Palace is bound to get a bit of attention.

Doubt very much it'll be worth a live game to them though.
