Don’t understand it. Challoner says he can’t play in the league until he is 18 and signs professional forms. When did that come in?

Couple of goals against Dunston is nice for the lad but Challinor wouldn't get carried away even if he was already 18. We're allowed to hope he'll turn out to be a real prospect (same with Joe Grey) but time will tell.

Not saying about him playing in first team just never heard of this regulation. Says he can’t play in Micky mouse cup ties yet some teams seem to play very young players.

I think it’s to do with the way our youth system is currently, they’re not technically contracted to Pools as such, they do a scholarship with Hartlepool College and I believe Harry is also playing men’s football at Billingham Town. There’s no youth contract in place with Pools so he won’t be able to sign a deal until he’s 18.

I thought part of the payments from the EFL were supposed to be for the academy and development of younger players. If we carry on like this he will then sign for another club at 18 as with Luca Murphy we would not receive a fee. What about signing him on non contract terms until he is 18 then he could play as he will be at Billingham Town.

if he's on a non-contract he is free to sign for anyone else for nowt, so it makes no difference.
