Can anyone explain what this is and why Pools seem to be the only club giving this as a reason for not announcing new signings. We were told that there were two lists of players depending which league we were in and then nothing.

Other clubs have used it too. Basically if a player isn’t signed on with another club within a month then the old club pay an extra months wage, so we have to wait until that runs out*. There was one club who announced a player before this time lapsed and there was hell on. This is the first time I’ve ever heard of it and it was because of the shite that other club had.

true. or a situation where players start to panic if they are not fixed up by now and might accept less money. the reason behind a lot of last minute signings throught football.
