'Sleeping giants' Notts County are trying to tempt Jamie Sterry to sign up with them for another season (at least) in the NL, according to the website Nottinghamshire Live.

With £2 million in the kitty from promotion to the EFL and the prospect of at least 3,00-4,000 season ticket sales now that Saj Jav says he's 'definitely' ending the lockdown on 19th July, isn't it about time Pools showed that they've got the financial muscle to hang onto at least a few of the players that Dave Challinor wants to build his squad around?

Depends if he is value for money. I’d like to see DC extend his contract. If he does I don’t think we will have too much trouble attracting some players. Raj backed DC last season…….I think we are all feeling nervous until some signings are made.

Unless they have serious coin I'd doubt Sterry would go there, I've heard of him getting linked to Blackburn and Bradford. Why go to Notts to play on bog like pitches in the middle of nowhere on a Tuesday night? Unless he wanted regular game time...but if he wants that why not stay?

could understand any pools player wanting to play for bolton and sunderland and surely with the 2 million windfall and our gates we could match anything oldham and walsall have to offer. same with notts county where he,d be dropping a league to play in some exciting away games next season for a few quid more. doubt there offer will be one only a fool could turn down. sodding agents again.

Dom Scurr tonight in the Mail suggesting Mols has an offer from Torquay (must have liked him when he slotted that vital goal past them ha)

Feaths still not signed on the line with Notts also looming (imagine Sterry and Feaths at Notts lol :|)

Kilip wanting to be back down sarrffff (probs end up at a boreham Wood / Dags i would of thought)

and what seemed like a solid mention that Oates has offers on the table he cant refuse (heard Bradford and Salford)

hope we see some new players tomorrow as July 1st most contracts be done with the players being released etc

So basically the team that DC said would be broken up if we didnt get promoted is going to be broken up even though we achieved promotion. Ah well lets hope he has had a good rest the last week, as he is going to be busy in the coming few weeks putting a new squad together.

well all this is far from whats happening at sutton. all their main players from last season have signed new contracts and have a squad of 19. just wonder if all the publicity that pools have received in the play offs has had a harmful effect with our players being in the spotlight. sutton really got promoted with just a little whisper. not having it either that their players are worse than pools not to have any interest in their squad.

Oates to Wrexham is looking likely - few whispers on the grapevine was he was down that way over the weekend to meet up with club officials.

DC referred to his squad as misfits nobody else wanted but now these misfits are in great demand. You would think clubs would be queueing up for the guy who turned them from misfits into promotion achievers.

Exactly ! but maybe its the full backroom coaching staff and not just DC - would be very interesting to see how much influence Sweeney and Parkinson have had in turning these 'Misfits' into very good players for this Level.

Didnt our run of form come when Sweeney made the jump onto the first team coaching staff (Obviously Armstrong was one of the reasons too)

If DC left I think Sweens would be a shoe in, unless of course DC wanted to take his backroom staff with him.
I wouldn't be surprised if Sunderland were interested.
