Sure to be a fee. He is under 21 and we have developed him. Under contract as well.

there will be some money involved but not that much unless leicester have paid more than a tribunal would have given to pools.

I would have thought the best way of making money out of this deal is to have a sell on clause, hope he does well in the next few years & Leicester sell him on for £40 million!!

I'm hoping to see a decent loan arrangement come out of this.

Thank fuck we're in the EFL, the FA board will actually give us genuine compensation instead of the bag of haribos and can of Monster we got for Luca Murphy!

Dave Challinor's comments make it clear that Brad wanted to do right by Pools for giving him his start in professional football:
"As a young player with lots of potential, although Brad was on a long term contract with the club, this opportunity is one that suits everyone at this time and gives him personally a great chance to fulfil that potential at a Premier League club.

It’s been well documented that he has been out on trial at several clubs with a host of other clubs also showing interest but Leicester were the ones who came up with a deal that suited the club. Once that happened that was the place Brad wanted to be."

Good luck Brad, hope you make it big time - the only pity is most Poolies never got to see you play for us.

It's how football is now, sell them when the potential profit is hot rather than keep them and let them walk for free (ala Luca Murphy) or just keep them and watch the potential fizzle out.

It is a big shame we never saw him considering I remember Challinor claiming the plan was to rotate the two keepers, until Ravas came.

I saw him at Billingham Town a few times and he seemed average, mind you considering he was about 17 at the time and playing first team football as a goalkeeper that shows he must be good. And everyone I've spoken to said he's an extremely hard worker.

Now the deal is confirmed, why is it an undiscloed fee. I understand during neogiations the price might not be disclosed. But surely he has signed on the bottom line, why is there no tranparency over the fee

Take a peep at bbc sport list of transfers. Virtually every one is free or undisclosed so it appears to be common practice and not just at Pools.

It’s been the way for years at all levels. If other clubs know we’ve just been given £1million for example then they will shot some extra money on the player we are after buying from them.

Years ago im sure attendances were under declared, in order to bamboozle the tax man. It could be the same with trsnsfer fees.,all should be declared

It will be declared to the people that matter, ie the taxman. We don’t need to know how much he’s been sold for.

[quote="dykey"]Years ago im sure attendances were under declared,
and some clubs like rochdale who lived in fear of being voted out of the league actually did the opposite. they didn,t want to publicise the many sub 1,000 attendances they actually got. in rochdales case that was a fact and not a rumour.

Most clubs up and down the country beef up attendances. Arsenal are probably the worst, they count all season ticket holders as attending regardless if they turn up or not. I swear they had a Europa League game the other year with less than 10,000 fans.

Non league clubs do it even more, our last pre pandemic game at Sutton in March 2020 had an attendance of 2,000 right? Looked 900 at most.

in the present football world i cannot see any reason why a club would do this. clubs have to pay VAT on all tickets sold for a game for a start.

Two reasons really.
1. "We're bigger than you"
2. FFP
