If we stayed in the NL, we wouldn't know our fixtures until July 2nd, and, get this, wouldn't start playing until the 21st of July!!!

No offence to the clubs down there, but the NL board is the dictionary definition of tinpot.

one of the reasons all ex league clubs just cannot wait to get the hell out of it. like that non league paper, a football version of some train spotters magazine from years back. always expected to see roy cropper off coronation street sitting in the stand at some remote non league ground.

The sooner it's called div 5 and brought in line with the league the better. That includes 3 up/3 down.

I agree but I have a sneaky feeling they would go for a north/south split. There are currently four promotion places from lge 2 to lge 1.

but would the rest of the league clubs vote for that. the extra 24 clubs could dilute some of the money they already receive every season. possibly the only real winners would be the teams in the 5th division where finance is concerned. its more about the money nowadays and will get worse before better.

As long as plastic pitches are ruled out and a requirement that at least half the squad are full time professional footballers is brought in. Can't see the NL ever agreeing to that so it won't happen.

Season starts on August 7th so less than 7 weeks for DC and the team to wind down after yesterday, get a new squad together and go through pre-season before we all start again!

I would expect Harrogate to be a mid-week game or Boxing/New Years Day with it being our closest rivals next season. I hope we are at home, preferably to one of the bigger teams who will have a big following, sell out the home end & get the season off to a winning start. If its an away game, I wouldnt mind Northampton, Walsall or Scunthorpe, not too far away so will be guaranteed a huge following. But wherever it is, home or away, its better than Borehamwood, Weymouth or Dover!!!

do not want to put a dampener on everything but there could still be a situation where the vic is still under reduced capacity rules. if anyone is looking to watch most games and can afford it a season ticket seems a good option for next season.

Problem we have is that EFL 2 finished weeks ago, & since then clubs have been planning for next season & hoovering up the best available players, the only ones left will be under par or too expensive, the agents will be circling Pools like hawks!

hope we are at full or near full capacity for the crawley game and have all 4 sides. surely the odd crawley fan can be accomodated somewhere in the ground. they never bring many anyway and can hardly be a problem. certainly unlike mansfield or bradford where police leave will need to be cancelled.

The first midweek game....away at Bradford. we would have already played 10 midweek games in the shitty league we got out of.

That would have been a bad fixture for Torquay if they'd won.

The draw for the first round of the Carabao Cup will also take place on Thursday, June 24th. The draw will be shown live on Sky Sports and is set to get underway at approximately 3.40pm. The first-round ties will take place on the week commencing Monday, August 9th

Like the Carabao Cup, the EFL Trophy group stage draw will take place on Thursday too. The draw will be shown live on Sky Sports and will get underway immediately after the Carabao Cup draw. It is expected to start at approximately 4.30pm BST.

Don't forget their right to win penalty shoot outs as well as having pitch walkabouts by the PM.
If this is what Boris means by levelling up. I'm all for it.

so that means pools have one home game anyway in that competition. thats if the club and fans are as interested in that competition as they were last time we had to play in it.

Each of the league clubs has 2 home games, I hope our away game is at Morecambe, never been there & its a nice easy drive to the West coast.

Looking at our first three league matches we have a good opportunity to get off to a bright start. I would fancy us to beat Crawley and Barrow and wouldn't be surprised if we gave Sutton a going over. We have the momentum.

Pools are 50-1 with Bet Victor to win the League Two title. Salford are favourites at 6-1 with Mansfield 10-1.

next one may be Pontins with the final at haig avenue southport. to make it more interesting the teams that do not win the trophy are obliged to take up the weeks free holiday with the company at a pre season boot camp.
