Pools 2 Bromley 1 Johnston and Oates. I expect The Corner Flag and Millhouse will have bigger crowds than Bromley and Sutton United.

3-0 to pools. We’re out of the blocks quickly and they don’t get a look in.

job half done. surely pools cannot cock this one up now. would not worry me if oates does not come out for the second half. at least they cannot crock him on the bench. he,s done his job and there are other tasks ahead for him.

Brilliant first half performance by the whole team. Featherstone's pass to Oates for the first goal was a superb bit of skill. Loved Gav Holohan's battling performance in midfield too. For a little guy, the number of headers he won was unreal.

Bromley had no answer to Pools in the first half. For the second half, they put the big guys on. After that they were a threat every time they got the ball into the box from a wide position. That's a bit worrying, because it's a long way from being the first time this season that it's happened.

Yes I thought so too. He didn't try to make any excuses, blame anyone or anything else, said we were the better team, outplayed them in the first half, then wished us well for the next game & hopes we get promotion.

Woodman seems a decent guy and spoke very honestly after the game, good of him to wish us well. His son who is a keeper was on loan with us in 2014 but never played.

We had a great first half against Chesterfield and dreadful second half. Featherstone wasnt nearly as effective, Bromley were first to loose balls. Did Armstrong touch the ball much in the second half. Challinor needs to get the jekyll n hyde performance sorted out.

Bromley were caught cold in the first half and never really got going. They could only get better in the second half. Their goal straight after half time could have triggered a comeback but didn't. Pools weren't trying all that hard to score a 4th but retained possession well and were killing the game. That said, Bromley's goal from nowhere in injury time was a shocker. I didn't see the board go up and there was no announcement inside the ground about how much injury time was being played. If the match had gone on for another 5 minutes I could see them equalising. Thankfully it turned out that there were only seconds left!

It was a brilliant afternoon and a great atmosphere. Really sorry so many true fans couldn't be at the game but fingers crossed thousands more will be at Ashton Gate to see Pools promoted.

come on, one game at a time. we have got to win next sunday before we can start planning. pity next sunday is not being played under normal conditions. would have been a sell out with pools selling their whole allocation no matter of the rediculous kick off time. can even see home fans sleeping in for the game if they,ve been on a hard saturday night session.

Yes, one game at a time, but the comment was about more Poolies having the chance to be inside a ground to cheer their team on. None of us will be at Edgeley Park - unless you can somehow blag a ticket :icon-wink:

There'll probably be one or two fans at edgeley park, especially if tickets go on general sale. We've had fans at Ilkeston, Morpeth and Woking despite the fact we weren't meant to. What a shambles that we paraded the fat odious c.unt responsible for that on our pitch.

No club had less games with fans than us, yet our fans still got to some games, I don't usually say this but that shows we're a massive club. As for Weymouth, my sources tell me only one neutral fan was there, a Middlesbrough fan. Poor man has probably never even seen 4 goals in his life before coming to the Vic.

Morpeth did at least make some tickets available to Pools fans.

will be interesting what next season has in store for fans who travel away. will grounds capacities be reduced to make it home fans only in another excuse to sanitise football even further. always wonder what a home club actually makes out of away fans and how many are really needed to give a club a profit out of them. would need less stewards without em and the police bill would also be reduced.

Well...I suppose in non league at this level, away fans count for a pittance? I know Pools had the rinkend open for kids a few times when teams like Borehamwood came. Would losing away fans at this level really do that much damage?

Of course Pools would be devastated about losing away fans, because then they can't say things like "Weymouth, thank you for travelling 400 miles". I always die inside whenever I hear shite like that.

Also heard that tiers will come back, and they'll be cuntier than ever. If that's the case I think serious protests need to happen. Sorry, but if people in the north are losing sovereignty and freedom so should people in the south who can AFFORD to lose money, while people in the north cant.

Even at this level there are enough ex-Football League clubs (Grimsby and Southend just added to the ranks) to bring a decent following to places like the Vic if they're having a good season. Much as it makes me grind my teeth every time there's a proper following in the Rink End and Pools are playing shite, it's more than compensated when away fans have come all this way to watch their side get a good hiding. Would have been great to have had Stockport, Halifax, Notts County and Chesterfield fans up here this season to lord it over them.

Whatever the economics of it, travelling fans are an essential part of football.

I agree with you now, but not a few seasons ago. When we first came down the away end was rarely filled. I think only Wrexham ever brought a good few.

Harrogate and Barrow only bought decent amounts when they were decent. Our away following dwarfed theres even at our worst. That said I remember Gateshead bringing a lot.

Halifax never brought many up here either.

Also always remember Eastleigh bringing one person up, and he was gifted an executive box...of course that would obviously happen the other way around if we went to eastleigh...right...right?

Without away fans at the game, where would the 'NW Corner' congregate and who would they point at?

I've been to Eastleigh in the sponsor's stand at one end of the pitch. You can watch the match build up with a pint and then put it away to watch the match itself. Their Executive Seats area is on the half way line, so you have to (gasp!) go outside and walk to it.

That said, their normal facilities are good and they do a nice pint of proper ale. Still not seen us win there though!

the old north/south divide again. whilst i agree with you those down south think its a northern invention due to our chips on our shoulders. the words of my london partner and her family, not mine.
