Realise some people may already be on their way to the ground (!), but to mark the end of the regular season:

3-0 Pools (after a dodgy start). Armstrong, Oates, Holohan. Crowd 1,700 (ish)

Does anyone know what contract he is on? Bet there's a few teams willing to take a punt on him.

That thought certainly crossed my mind, particularly if we don't finish the job at Bristol.

Dom Scurr in the Mail gave this update a month ago: https://www.hartlepoolmail.co.uk/sport/ ... gn-3215362

You'd like to think Oates was one of the players signed with an option on a second season last summer, but it could just as easily be Ofosu or MacDonald  In his interview on the OS yesterday Rhys said he was grateful to Dave Challinor for taking a chance on him; hopefully it was a 1+1 chance!

Pretty much the whole squad will be free agents in June, including the likes of Liddle and Featherstone. It'll be like last summer, who Dave Challinor wants to stay and who gets offered a contract but decides to go elsewhere anyway. A hell of a lot depends on whether he has a League Two or NL budget.

if he had been given more than a years contract when pools did sign him most would have been up in arms about it. would be a bit of a gamble for any club signing him. which oates would they eventually get. hope he,s given a couple of years extention with improved terms. from a footballing point of view he should stop at pools but then there,s the bloody agents to worry about who might try to turn his head for their sakes.
