Come on Flying Hogans, there’s more to life than Football.

Especially right now with serious issues like Politics to discuss.

True enough, but there's reason to hope the football won't stay that way. And if the worst happens there's always next season. Nothing to look forward to in politics except another referendum on Scottish independence and the third Krankie never off the TV.

Wee Krankie is pointing to the fact that democracy has to be upheld but has failed to recognise that the number of votes for the pro independence parties was actually less than than the votes for the parties who are pro retaining the Union. If that happened in a referendum she would lose. The parties that get the most votes don't necessarily get the most seats, so Wee Krankie might get a shock if she succeeds in getting another referendum. There is also a mounting argument that if the Union has to be split up then all members should vote, although that could be her best shout judging by the number of English willing to kick the Scots into touch.

The question she dodges is 'how is she going to pay for it'? Does she expect we English to continue to support them? Amazes me that no one (Press or otherwise) seems to ask this. And how many submarines do we give her? As with the Cameron referendum, no one is asking the important questions. But my answer is 'sod off now hinnie'.

with so many countries across the world that are made up of states that once were regarded as a seperate country why do a good percentahe of scots want to turn the clock back. italy and germany for a start never existed till the middle part of the 19th century. south africa was born in the 20th century by the incorporation of the boer republics of transvaal and the orange free state into the british ruled ones. there must be many others. you never hear anything like bavarian independance in germany so why does krankie want to rock the boat. money from the eu i expect. plus westminster money as well to continue.

Andrew Marr asked her the very question you refer to on his show yesterday but the press/media generally don't want to put her on the spot just yet as they want to keep stirring up the possibility of a row with Johnson because there is no opposition to him in England at the moment, which is why virtually the entire media spent the entire weekend focussing on Scotland. Peace and quiet is no good to a media
which thrives on conflict.

She talked about a transition period where she would retain the pound until she saw fit to use their own currency and that she was confident that Scotland, having left the Union, would be prosperous but she didn't go into much more detail. How long the transition period would last was not mentioned or whether she would be sponging off us in the meantime.

If Scotland get independence i can see them joining the EU and adopting the Euro (or shadow currency). It would cost the EU little to prop up a little country of 5 million like Scotland making it a thorn in the side of the remaining Ununited Kingdom.
A possible name for the currency could be the "Dram"? :obscene-drinkingdrunk:

That would mean a border on mainland UK with all the customs implications.

An independent Scotland is a very silly idea, particularly logistically.

be like the one between southern and northern ireland with all the problems it could create for both countries. doubt krankie is bothered about anything though as long as she gains scottish independence. her and her party are really a one trick pony with nothing new on their agenda than one single thing independence. in the future will the cumberland or northumberland coast be the best place for the scottish dingy divers to land and will we send em all back.

So how would free movement work? How would these undercover terrorist infiltrators get from France to Jockland if they're not allowed in England?
