Fair play to the 'moneybags' club, should be plenty of Poolies having a watch.

Don't know what the unofficial record streaming attendance is for the NL but this game might be close to it.

About 10 minutes into the game at King's Lynn their chairman who was co-commentating said the streaming attendance for the game had gone up to over 700 - he was chuffed to bits, so it's a fair bet most of them were away fans.

Supposing there are 3,000 odd streams for the Stockport game - not impossible including their season ticket holders - I wonder what the total number of people viewing would be?

their stream is very good. the commentators less biased than most which annoys my lad and a neighbour who thinks they go out of their way too much to give the opposition credit.

We can't complain about biased commentaries because the Pools' stream always gives the impression that the opposition are only there to make up the numbers.

One of my abiding memories of this season is going to be Alex Chandy saying "Let's hope those missed chances in the first half don't come back to haunt us."

yes, but our stream is really there for pools fans and not the opposition. must admit in the old days of watching live i classed the opposition as just something needed to allow the game to take place. i have never applauded good play or goals from em and would invite anyone to chop my hands off if i did.

There is a finely nuanced way to treat away supporters. You don't want to treat them like animals in a slaughterhouse (I.e. Harrogate Town) but you also don't want to worship them like some kind of submissive (which is exactly what Pools do!).

The PA saying thank you to the away supporters for travelling long distances, absolute cringe. Is he not aware that Pools fans also travel those same distances? Mind, this was probably the man who played Tom fucking Hark after we got relegated!

I know I've criticized Chandy before, probably harshly. But if anything I'm glad he engages in banter, speaks about Pools in a biased sense and is loud. Because that's the kind of shite Pools have been dealing with for years.

Will always remember the commentator for Gateshead saying something like "are you watching this Jeff?" In a game where they beat us. Not sure if Jeff was watching that, but he probably got to see Gateshead financially implode which was fun enough.

Thanks Stockport. I'll take it. I've watched Pools a lot more this season due to having the streaming option. I too wonder about how much money these clubs are making from streaming, particularly away fans that would not go the match in person. Better to have 50 poolies in person at £20 versus 500 streaming at £10? I'd still rather be at the match but compared to the radio, a preferable alternative

As for BT, without knowing the commercial terms, probably something for the clubs themselves to look at for the next contract negotation. How many fans won't go to a match that is at 17:20 rather than 15:00, if they really have the option to be there in person. Again, more of an impact on the away attendance I suggest. It's a moot point really, since BT have got the league rights for another 3 years. Money in the bank rather than speculate... but after this season, the clubs have true numbers on what their fans will do to watch the match.

I haven't seen any streaming numbers, but the Mixlr audio commentary tends to hover around 200-300 listeners, with that in mind I'd be shocked if viewership was under 1,000.

I've watched the streams of every Pools away game so far this season, including the 2 FA Cup ties. I'll be happier paying £7.50 for the privilege than £12 (King's Lynn), but when the main alternatives have been another bloody walk or more bets on the televised racing on ITV it's been a bit of a godsend.

The biggest downside is it all gets a bit samey as an experience. I'm already struggling to remember much about a couple of the games from before Christmas.

Really looking forward to tomorrow though. Would have been far better if it was an away day out, but still, plenty riding on it. UTP.

That was John Orley. We've had at least 2 PA announcers since then (Phil D and Greig), both of which did/do a fine job and for little reward.

Think BT get games on the cheap. just take todays game for instance if we were allowed back into grounds. You could see a full poolie presence in the ground swelling the attendance to over 7,000. With a 5.30 KO those with BT sports might give it a miss whilst others getting grief as they would not be home till after 10 instead of say before 8 and can still go out at night. Possibly a good couple of thousand less which is not just bums on seats but a loss in programme sales, food and drink consumed inside the ground by both sets of fans. Thing is at Boreham Wood or Wealdstone it would not make much of a difference and thats the problem.
