When someone first said, Keates, Westwood and Pead were all making the switch to Posh a few months ago I thought they were kidding now it looks like it's true.

You can't really knock him as a commute from Walsall to Peterborough is more than viable compared to Pools to Walsall and there seems to be exciting things happening at Peterborough. Having said that, there are a few examples of clubs throwing money at players in the lower leagues and it all going tits up

Suppose we'll just have to wait and see what happens next season at Peterboro see if they go up or not ?

Im just wondering what the Walsall fans are thinking of it all at the min, winning promotion and losing 2 maybe 3 key players

He's now what, 31, 32? not too many years left in football. You can't blame him for topping up his pension fund.

My sources inform me the deal might not be as done as the Peterborough site is saying.

Nothing on the Walsall site yet

I think that he will be driving to work every day ..... just as he wanted to when he wanted to return to us a year ago.... They are happy for him to do it and as far as I know we were not ..

Frank.

It's a big difference Frank; if you use the M6 toll road its a decent run to Peterborough; M6/A14. Total 91 miles. You could probably do it in an hour and a half and stopping over a couple of nights a week it would be livable. Alternatively travelling to Hartlepool from Walsall is a nightmare which would take three hours a time at best. You'd soon get sick of that.

90 minutes commuting is about the outer limit for most people.

The point I wanted to make was that Chris wanted to come to us and the distance did not matter to him...

I take your point but to commute that distance is not healthy. 6 hours in the car every day getting to work and back would not be good preperation for an athlete.

Nothing on our O/S at the moment. They're not out of contract until 30th June so it's all a bit premature.

I'm not exactly gutted about either. Keates is a good League 2 player but a 3 year contract (what Posh have supposedly offered him) would be way too long for our needs.

Westie has had a good season at right back. He's 3rd or 4th choice as centre half. We need a specialist right back so I can the sense in him moving on.
