Beyond that, he's looking to bring in a left-sided defender as cover for David Ferguson and a 'goalscorer' to take some pressure off Luke Armstrong and guard against the possibility that he might pick up an injury.

Sounds spot on to me. Ferguson's form has slipped a bit in recently but he's expected to get up and down the pitch like a fiddler's elbow for 90 minutes twice a week and never gets a break. As for Armstrong, he's absolutely key to Pools' chances of promotion this season and if there's a chance to bring in an experienced striker as back up that would be brilliant. There's too much riding on dwindling number of games to think that throwing in Mason Bloomfield and hoping he comes off would be the answer - not Mason's fault, he's a prospect, but the run in to the end of the season is going to be very tough.

Yes I thought it was interesting. I hope he gets the lads he is after, especially Tom White. I have been quite impressed with him.

it is interesting and even more interesting if he gets his first choices and not ends up with his 3rd or 4th ones in the positions he is looking to cover. on top of that would be even more interesting if he views the signings as improvements on the regular starters.

White's loan extended until May.
