Losing 1-2 at home to Altrincham at h/t, Sutton winning 2-0 at Stockport.

Torquay are definately showing signs of starting to blow it. If we won on Saturday we would be getting right in the mix for the title.

The division is starting to settle down now, as teams catch up in terms of games played. Results went our way last night with Torquay and Stockport losing and Wrexham drawing. Altrincham won at Torquay of course, but they are now in the position we have been in over the last few weeks, points in the bag, but played more games than the rest, they are the surprise package, have had a great season, can they keep it up? probably not, but might make one of the last play off spots. Torquay are faltering, I thought they might, its not always easy being that far out in front, as we know only too well ourselves, but losing their star striker has played a big part in their loss of form, notice how Sutton won last night with Eastmond back in the side. Things look a lot better for us at the moment, but can we get through the rest of the season, without suffering from a big injury or a suspension or two? Could we cope without the loss of Sterry , Ferguson, Featherstone or Armstrong for 5 or 6 weeks. Not tempting fate, but this is Pools. If luck is on our side, as I feel it has been so far this season, then no reason why we can't chase down Torquay.

think injuries and suspensions will decide who goes up or get into the play offs not just for pools but for all these clubs with a chance. then luck comes into it in the so called 6 pointer games. playing the opposition suffering problems can make it easier than playing em with a full squad to pick from. some clubs will get these breaks whilst others do not. every club plays the same number of games against all the clubs but playing em at the right time means much more. one thing that has never happened in football is an unlucky team getting promoted.

We will certainly have to start playing better away with all the top teams to come.

Sutton did have a big helping hand from the Mark Kitching own goal!

 But the keeper's positioning is the issue I think. What an earth is he doing so far away from his goal? He's closer to the corner flag.

Discipline seems to be a problem with Stockport. For us that can only be a good thing

Exactly as their ex manager stated after they played us.

hello from the english riviera .

yes we are having a bit of a bad set of results at the moment. we are hardly going to win every game. a hell of a long way to go yet. the altrincham game was truly bizarre as we started the match with not one forward on the pitch. a lightweight midfielder trying his best but took an hour before we brought one on.
we are definitely missing Danny Wright up front, his replacement josh umerah hasnt been good at all. we now have a loanee in from palace and he should now get some games in.
altrincham and sutton obviously surprise sides in promotion places. sutton i actually said at start of season could be good, very good players. you and stockport should be up there too . notts county should be up there but they are set up not to lose first and one of the lowest scorers in the league.

Thanks for the update. I think you will be okay, might even lose top spot, then have a second wind and regain it. Yes Altrincham are a surprise package, built upon I think a very organised and hard working defence. Sutton I thought would up and around the lower play off positions, and think that is possibly where they will end up.
