5-2 to Pools. Wonder if Josh Hawkes played for them. And wonder what happened to Josh MacDonald - he was supposed to get a run out along with Ofosu and the rest but didn't appear.

I was surprised Ryan Donaldson didn't get a run out either as he hasn't had many minutes on the pitch lately.

Reading Dom Scurr's report on the game in the Mail
https://www.hartlepoolmail.co.uk/sport/ ... 3s-3095411
it would be easy to put 2 and 2 together and conclude that MacDonald and Joe Bunney aren't going to be around very much longer at the Vic. 2+2 sometimes makes 5 though!

Trialists Connor Blunt cannot make it out. In January last year aged 17yrs signed three year contract with Leeds but left after three months to join Sheffield Untd but then appears to have been released by them at the end of season. Am I missing something?

I think the Blades released him because of his surname... bbolt

In all seriousness I can only assume he's a free agent? Strange his name was mentioned because there were some trialists at the Morpeth a few months ago and they werent named (at least officially).

From what I've read Jason Blunt was a youth coach at Leeds. Jason parted ways with the club and so did Connor.

According to Transfermarkt (fairly hit and miss for info) he's a free agent and has been since January 2020.

We should only recruit strikers called Sharpe.

What about Big Stevie Howard? Would he get us out of this awful league? Or is it too soon?

In a Q&A Dom Scurr has said MacDonald was injured. Whether that’s true or not is another thing....
