Fitness fanatic by all accounts, not sure why S Shields would want to get rid like. Shocking that we havent another natural right back at the club, yet an abundance of players in other positions

Doubt they did want him to leave, he probably just played a few games there to get match fit in the hope of a bigger club coming in. Training with pools in the summer we probably didn't have the budget then. Some of their fans on Twitter said hes far too good for that level.

Hope this is true Richy, but surely if he is that good some club with a budget would've came in for him?. Given that the NLN is a division below us, I would sincerely hope he did make a good impression at S Shields, albeit he only played 4 games!!!

Seems another one who has suffered with injuries in the past, our squad is rapidly starting to fill up with them.

Well, there's the potential negatives laid out...

the other side of the coin is that once again Pools haven't hesitated to bring someone in when faced with more injuries. Let's not forget that this is at a time when the club are out of all cup competitions and the chances of any additional income from fans being allowed to attend home matches are down to a handful of games at best.

Good to see the chairman is still backing the manager - welcome Jamie Sterry, hope you're just what we need.

The lad has played about 15 league games in 4 or 5 years. We couldn’t afford him in the summer but South Shields could, that just shows you the task Challinor has on his hands this year. I hope we are prepared for the relegation fight that’s coming our way.

No surprise that you are yet again defending the indefensible. There is always the chance he could come good, I hope he does, but the so called negatives laid out , suggest its unlikely.

As for the chairman backing the manager, it just shows how naive Singh is. I would've sent DC packing. All this means is just another player on the wage bill, another player not getting a game and spending Saturday playing on his Xbox, and another player for the new manager to have to scatter in the summer.

He should've stuck Donaldson at right back tonight , maybe there are another couple of seasons in Donaldson in that position, no bigger a risk than signing Sterry.

Think you've gone over the top with your studs showing this time Mr H.

I didn't attack your original post. It's an alternative viewpoint - what this board's all about, surely?

We keep signing lads who are not playing or have played regular football in a long time. No wonder we struggle so much.

wish a lot of others would realize this when they knock challinor and his signings. given a decent amount of money i doubt they,d have been anywhere near pools and would be his 3rd or 4th choice signings. like it or not money rules the game even in non league.

He hasn’t been given a chance. Just got to look at the signings in the summer, desperate and cheap. Rhys Oates would struggle in the northern league. Challinor fate was sealed back in the summer I would be amazed if he isn’t sacked by the end of the season or walked. I know people will point at him and say but he signed them and they do have a point and he has lost the plot a bit since the Torquay game, but we saw what he could do with half decent players last season. At the end of the day who wouldn’t lose the plot somewhat with this shower of shite.

I would like to think that. I rated DC until recently , I now have doubts, its like 2 different people, the manager of last season and the one this season. I have detected things this season that have concerned me. He seems to be vindictive and go for his gun too quickly , dropping players too quickly, signing replacements on a whim and chopping and changing the team every game. It could all stem from the frustration at not having any real money to spend and not being able to bring in the players he would've liked to.

He hasn't really experienced being at a club with no money or with supporters ground down by years and years of failure challenging his decisions , maybe he just can't handle the pressure and maybe the good start he had in his managerial career at Fylde was more down to the backing he had than the fact he was a good manager. I would imagine most managers would do okay with money to spend, the mark of a good manager is one who can sow a silk purse with a Sows ear, at HUFC you should always be looking at a manager with a history of doing just that, At the moment it looks increasingly is unable to do that.
