I will wait until I see what teams are being put out first. My early thoughts though are of a resounding defeat of some sort. We need to put our strongest team out, but no doubt we'll see Crawford, Bloomfield, Ofuso, etc getting a run out. That for me would mean the difference between a routine defeat and a potential rout. Maybe only the cup, but a defining game IMO for DC. Still you never know with football, a repeat of last years win at Yeovil would be nice. Interesting comparing the team that day to the one that will take the field tomorrow.

doubt things will be as bad as the torquay game. no matter what side pools do put out it will hardly be the shock of the century if pools did win there. its a free hit really. does not bother our league position and could in some ways this game has come at the right time. the only thing that worries me is that a win or narrow defeat may be seen as a papering over the cracks exercise. going for a 2 nil defeat.

Central defender signed from Blackburn, Tyler Magloire, comes highly recommended. Don’t they all.

every club in the land say stuff like that and their bright future in the game. whether they were or not they will not say that the player was the only choice they had and the signing was a big gamble.

Hopefully we can stay in the game for long enough for Bloomfield to score the winner in the last ten minutes and we hang on for the win. 0-1 Pools. If not be nice if we get a consolation goal.

3-1 to them. Williams scores and goes off injured. Genuine prediction I'm not being facetious.

Obviously hope I'm wrong.

This what today's Lancashire Telegraph says about Magliore:

"Rovers have allowed central defender Tyler Magloire to join National League side Hartlepool United on a two month loan deal.

Magloire had been training with the Rovers first-team squad ahead of this weekend’s visit of QPR, having been included in the travelling party for last weekend’s defeat at Swansea City.

It had been thought the 21-year-old would make the bench tomorrow, but instead he’s secured himself a loan deal to the National League promotion chasers."

So, he's fit enough and highly rated enough to be in Blackburn's first team squad in the Championship - on what level is it not a great bit of work by Dave Challinor to bring him in to Hartlepool? sctatchinghead

Was last Saturday a blip? Well find out today. Lets be honest most supporters were quite happy at how things were going albeit against weak opposition. As they say you can only play what’s in front of you but I don’t think anyone was getting carried away and knew we would probably get caught out and a play off place would probably the best we could hope for.

I expect Pools to get beat today but also to put in a much better performance. It was the manner of loss to Torquay that was the big disappointment. You can't win em all, but losing that badly isn't acceptable. Pools have had a week between games so I don't think Challinor will rest anybody unless they're not fully fit. It'll be interesting to see who he drops.
3-1 Salford.

I couldn't be more wrong - apart from the back 4, that picks itself (Magloire in for the injured Odusina), he's dropped everybody except Donaldson and Featherstone.

Ravas, Crawford, MacDonald, Oates and Ofosu all in. Crikey!

Unbelievable line up, Williams still been wrapped in cotton wool, think he must've used a tombola to pick it. Salford meanwhile more or less full strength.

4-1 defeat

Using this as a practice game, for fringe players to get some game time, typical Pools and fookin disgraceful.

Pools playing 5 across the back and looking loads better defensively. Ravas behind them has been excellent.

Looked like a handball by Salford in their box right in front of the ref in the first couple of minutes but he wasn't interested. Want to see that one again!

Good performance. No disgrace in that result at all. The starting 11 all did well - Salford's subs made the difference.

Challinors team selection made the difference, Salford had an off day, and by putting out a weakened side we failed to capitalise on it.

Marine at home would be good!
For years we have been crap in the cups, now a cup run is expected again! Just a shame we couldn't have been there to watch it, last season at Walsall was memorable.

Let’s give them some credit, Salford are a good 3rd Div. side and it will probably be no surprise if they are not in the promotion places. We however will not get anywhere without a decent striker the more I see of our two the more I worry. I could not understand why he left Molyneux out he hasn’t played that much he needed a rest but saying that I thought the two wingers did OK.
Well we will find out next week whether Torquay was just a hick up.
By the way I thought the streaming was quite good apart for about 5mins just before half time when mine just froze. It was the first time I have seen them do instant replays.

Not that you would be interested in watching but Quaker TV streams are miles ahead of anything else I have seen so far. Picture quality and content second to none. Just got a 4th camera added now so I have heard. Instant replays since day one, highlight reels at half time. All done by volunteers.

Good result for Darlo.
They must of took the FA Cup a bit more serious than us and played a full strength team.

I can never take a positive out of a defeat.

Fair play to Darlo today. I am very impressed with how Darlo are are going about things. I would yourselves and certainly S Shields ahead of us, as regards getting back into the FL.

Why are you preaching about Quaker TV on the Poolie Bunker, what do you want, a medal? Our stream is shit, you win!

We were solid today, but will come up short like this if we can’t somehow find a striking partnership that produces goals. Thought Oates did okay, Featherstone great, Crawford grew into the game, new centre back very solid and Ferguson always an outlet - but then Parkhouse really struggled. Lost with dignity in a tough game - need to win next weekend and get back on form.

Port Vale are a good Div 3 side and will probably be in the promotion places as well, but didnt stop Kings Lynn beating them.

I agree about the striker, who doesnt ? I would send one of our strikers ( no name mentioned ) out on loan to Blyth, but I honestly think he would struggle at that level.

A tough set of fixtures coming up, all will be revealed.

So according to you Pools have a few more years hanging around in the NL to look forward to before that happens. The Loids need to buck their ideas up to get anywhere near the top of the NL North this season, and South Shields need successive promotions to do it. Bloody hell, I thought this season was bad what with losing a league game already, but season 2022/23 could be much, much worse.

Not preaching anything, just saying what can be achieved if the will is there for not a lot of money, compared to things like ifollow that did the Swindon game today.
I haven’t seen your feed so wouldn’t comment on it.

Ok club lackey, why wouldnt SS get successive promotions? they have done so far, as did Harrogate/Salford etc.

As for Pools come back on Dec 6th and lets have a conversation about our position in the table. I look forward to it.

its not that our strikers are poor players its just a level too far for them i,m afraid. they would look unstoppable in the northern league but as national league players you might make a decent one out of them all. the problem pools have got is that good strikers demand a good wage which i doubt pools are willing or able to pay.

The Loids need to buck their ideas up to get anywhere near the top of the NL North this season, and South Shields need successive promotions to do it. Bloody hell, I thought this season was bad what with losing a league game already, but season 2022/23 could be much, much worse.

Ok club lackey, why wouldnt SS get successive promotions? they have done so far, as did Harrogate/Salford etc.

As for Pools come back on Dec 6th and lets have a conversation about our position in the table. I look forward to it.

Club lackey? I wondered when the personal insults would start - you've got form in that regard. This prediction of yours is beyond parody. What other Pools fan but you would denigrate his own club's chances of success to that extent?

Like I've said before we have a problem taking our chances and more and more we are witnessing that problem.
Unless that problem is addressed and pretty quickly any hopes we had of challenging for promotion will slowly but surely just drift away on the wind of "what ifs".
That for me is a crying shame but if we can't afford to address it then we have to accept that situation, no matter how unpalatable it is.
The big question now is, for how long?????

We've slipped another place down to 7th after Wealdstone jumped above us yesterday. Our inability to take our chances will cost is dear, everything is going the wrong side of the post atm. Unless someone hits a rich vein of form in front of goal I can see us slowly slipping down the table. Mr Horden is correct to show concern. We played well yesterday but once you start playing well but dont get anything from games that's when your in trouble.

As for Mr.Hogans, you need to practice what you preach, you referred to Horden and myself as Mystic Megs when interpreting our assumptions on G.L. incorrectly.

We slipped to seventh, of course we did we didn’t play, I agree about lack of goals but if we didn’t play and the other team below them wins that’s what happens.
