From this report it sounds like he'll be a tremendous signing for Pools IF he stays fit.

Why give Cunningham a new contract, then loan him out to Blyth with no apparent intention to get him back when needed? OK, so Cass can allegedly play in the middle, but didn't we only have 3 central defenders - two now injured, & Johnson who was only initially given a very short term contract ?

Cunningham also played for Blyth in the FA Cup

all very strange, but not untypical of what we have become used to at Pools.

IMO Blyth is his level. Another player who seemed to pick up injuries regularly.

You could be right, his presence in their defence hasn't improved their results, just seems daft to sign a player on loan when we have a product of our youth team out on loan. Why also would we want him cup tied? Why offer him a contract if clearly he isn't rated

Why offer him a contact, goodness knows. Why bring a loan player in, first of all apparently we couldn’t recall him so let him play in the cup. Secondly imo the manager does not rate him good enough at the moment, which is also my opinion.
