We will be getting £95k a month from the Govt £10million support package as one of the seven clubs with higher attendances.

Don't know how this leaves us when streaming revenues are taken into account, plus the fee for appearing on BBC in the FA cup.

95k a month for 3 months, that's welcome support, us and 6 other clubs receiving 11k a month more than the other 16 clubs in the division due to higher attendances. Good that they've taken that into account.

Should've been shared out equally. You can't slag the big 6 prem clubs off, when you are guilty of doing the same thing yourself.

Not really on the same scale selfishness as what's being driven by the Premiershop gang though, theres is self driven, whereas this has come from the powers themselves.

Wasnt aimed at you personally Dan , in case you thought it was, but same rules apply, although I agree not on the same scale of selfishness, but regardless of who made the decision, still think its always best to share things out equally. IMO Unfairness in football started way back in the 80s when home clubs starting keeping all their gate receipts, instead of giving 25 per cent to the away team. That helped smaller clubs like us back then, now we are the big fish in a small pond.

agree. it costs say dover the same amount to play a game at pools than us playing there. even the budget on wages has not been taken into account. thought we were all supposed to be in it together. think its the description of pools being discribed as an elite club has got some excited.

I certainly do agree with you Ron on the fairness aspect, the gate receipt share should be reintroduced but doubt it would ever happen. Imagine due to a couple of postponements you could end up going over a month without any home income at all, what's fair about that.

Some would say that will balance out over the season but it doesn't work that way, say you have a couple of bank holiday home games cancelled, feasibly your biggest home crowds of the season, rescheduled for late season Tuesday night when there's nothing to play for and your sitting mid table, your crowds will certainly be half of what they would have been. All that on the day income lost.

In the Premier League television revenues dwarf gate receipts - their arguments are all about how the TV money is divvied up.

The NL decision is all about loss of income from gate receipts. The 7 clubs who are benefitting from a relatively small amount of extra support had the biggest average gates last season, from Notts County (av. over 5,000 a home game) down to Torquay averaging 2,600. The NL has taken into account that those clubs will have budgeted in pre-season for larger home attendances than the rest, even taking into account Covid restrictions - so not having fans in at all is hitting them hardest.

Sorry, but I don't see anything 'fair' about Boreham Wood (average gate 724) getting the same support from the NL as Notts County - or Pools. The same goes for the likes of Solihull Moors. Their multi-millionaire owners will have no trouble finding an extra £11,000 a month for their playthings.

Any income is welcome but if it was averaged out, Darlo are getting around £21 a head whereas some clubs are getting nearer £40 a head because they get small crowds in comparison but get the same size grant.

so the other alternative is for all 23 clubs to get nothing. they all have to go to the league with their current accounts where those who really need it get more than those who do not.

Considering the urgent need to get money out to the clubs I'm grateful that the National League had the common sense to come up with a quick solution. It's not perfectly fair - if I was a Halifax fan I might be aggrieved that Torquay get extra money on 2,600 av. gates but Halifax miss out on 2,200 average - but it's not bureaucracy gone mad either.

Whatever the pros and cons are, relative to the proportioning, this support is vital and extremely welcome so well done to the guys who negotiated it.

Has Carol Kirkwood ever had a fansite masthead dedicated to her before?

Maybe she'll come and do a weather forecast from the centre circle at the Vic. Got to be a warm front over Hartlepool that day.
