Canvey Island away would be a difficult one. Skelmersdale Utd probably more our luck.

Sunderland at home, for tv money , failing that another nice easy away fixture at a lower ranking team, or a nice stiff test at somewhere like Forest Green or Salford.

doubt we,ll be on tele two games in a row. seeing as we cannot attend anyway the draw is a bit of a damp squib for me. hope its some unexicting away game like say gillingham where we,ll feel we have not missed much.

Be interesting if South Shields drew Sunderland, a lot of split loyalties there. Wonder if they've ever played each other in the Cup in the past?

Don't think they have ever played each other in a competitive game. Not easy to get the head around the histories of South Shields and Gateshead football clubs, a very strange and unique story.

Could be worse. We'll get some publicity courtesy of the Paul Scholes connection - the BBC are so Manure daft they might even feature it.

And there's only 20 places between us!

Over the last 3 or 4 seasons out of the 10 games we've played in the FA Cup 8 of those games have been away ties. Hardly balances out does it.

Probably not, just nervous and made a few mistakes, like we all do from time to time, thankfully she composed herself and got it back.

A tough draw, but not beyond us. As I said further up this thread, a tie like this, will be a big test and will show us how far we have come, whether we are good enough to go up and stay up ( if we win ) or a play off team ( if we narrowly get beat, say on penalties ) or not as good as we first thought, with our frailties exposed ( 3-0 defeat).

Will be interesting to see how our centre backs cope with Henderson , who for me should be playing for one of the big league 1 clubs or even in the championship

The biggest downside to a heavy cup defeat is it can knock the players' confidence and lead to a string of poor league results. That's happened to Pools already since they came down to the NL, especially the first season when the wheels fell off Craig Harrison's time in charge after the 3-0 loss at Morecambe.

At the end of the day though league positions are decided by consistency over 44/46 games at this level. In hindsight, it's a miracle that Harrison's side ever put such a good run together in the first place - 9 wins and 4 draws in 14 games before the FA Cup defeat.

Keep playing the way we have been we can give anyone a good game in the bottom 2 leagues. Nothing at all to be afraid of going to Salford, especially with their home form not being too great. We just need to tighten up a bit at the back and find that top striker, for this league and we be back in the football league either this year or next with Challinor in charge.

imagine they are slightly better than the last time we played em. however pools are in a different bracket to the side we played there. if they are arrogant leaving a lot of regulars out and taking it easy then pools have a really good chance. scholes v challinor, i know the one i,d pick and he was never in the so called class of 92.

Looks like Salford are hell bent on promotion this year anyway so they will probably leave a few first teamers out. Nowt to lose and behind closed doors games are glorified friendlies anyway. We've got a half decent chance

i think Salford will take it seriously , more likely we will rest players as has happened in the past. I hope not though, as I would be disappointed in DC if he did this. I don't think he will though , but as we saw at Ilkeston, a couple were rested , but their places taken by capable replacements , in a perfect game for fringe players to get some game time.

Personally though I would take no chances and play my strongest eleven.

think its all about looking for shocks, ex cup finalists or real non league games. if pools had been at home we might have stood a chance.
