'Now that the season's over I think I'd like to say a big thank you to Ken Hodcroft and IOR for making good on their promise of 12 months ago to "put things right" after the disappointment of relegation. Thank you too to Danny Wilson and his management team and another big thank you to all of the players who've made this another great season to be a Poolie. I'd also like to say thank you to the sometimes maligned admin staff and the ticket office, especially Linda and Sharon, for the help they gave me with a ticket problem I had prior to the Bristol Rovers game.

Everyone at HUFC has done a great job this season, long may it continue'

06/07 will always go down as one of the favourite seasons ever as far as I'm concerned. Starting from the friendly win against Leeds to last Saturday, it's been packed of twists and turns, excitement, class goals and entertainment. What more can you ask for?

The away games at Peterborough, Stockport, Darlo and Wycombe were amazing (19 goals in total) and as a football fan you can't ask for much more than them.

I don't agree with the Mayor about it being the best side ever but the performances from proper footballers like Ben Clark, Willie Boland, Gary Liddle, Richie Barker have set a great foundation that the superb management team will no doubt build on.

I slated Danny Wilson at the start of the season (mainly out of sheer frustration) but I am very pleased I was well and truly wrong and I personally believe him and Ian Butterworth are the best management duo we have ever had.

How long till the first game of the season?

I too slated Danny Wilson, especially after the Torquay and Shrewsbury games. :uhoh: :uhoh:

We talked about this before saturdays game.

Looking back, it wasnt just the players sulking about last season, we, the fans, were as well.

To be fair, the players brought in made the difference, and DW did make some baffling decisions.

But he got it right eventually, and how.

And thats what impresses me most about DW. He makes mistakes, but learns from them very quickly.

Even Coops kept making the same errors over and over.................Danny Wilson doesnt.

Cooper was relatively experienced in the world of management, a few years at a Scottish Highland team (despite their success) means very little in the big wide world of football and he was still getting coaching from Alex Ferguson shortly before joining us. Cooper bought an awful lot of shite into Pools, as well as some very good players but you can't always afford to play a player 10 games before realising he isn't good enough.

Wilson has mad signings that had very little 'wow' factor, I can't say I got particularly excited about the signings of Liddle, Monkhouse and Boland but they have all slotted in superbly.

My frustration at Wilson was built up from the previous 12 months of Martin Scott, I wanted an immediate fix and wasn't foresighted enough to realise that these things take time. I never dreamt we could go half a season without losing (including winning most of them) but we did it with relative ease.

If Wilson had been appointed in February when Scotty left, I dare say we may have won this league with 100+ points. It would have given him longer to sort the team out instead of the 6-8 weeks that he had.

The future is bright with these two at the helm, I really hope we're fighting to keep them both at the club in 12 months time

So I take it from that you're not going to be shouting 'WILSON OUT' anymore? Although, if we have a bad start to next season, mmmmm !!!

Only joshin' mate.

this might turn out to be a case of one step backwards, two steps forwards. If we had survived in L1 under Scott for arguments sake - stop laughing at the back - then would we have had the same kind of impetus as we now have coming back into that division I wonder. I think we'll have that freshness and enthusiasm, not to mention determination, to avoid a repeat of 05/06 - the players didn't like it and they won't want to go through it again - and I don't think Mr Hodcroft or Mr Wilson will allow things to slacken at any stage.

I THINK A LOT OF US HAD OUR JUDGEMENT CLOUDED BY THE RELEGATION
YES WE WERE LOING FOR A QUICK FIX
ONLY NATURAL WHEN YOU THINK WHAT WAS ACHIEVED PRIOR TO SCOTT
