If he has gone the journey I wouldn't like to be anyone in N Korea.
If it leaves a power vacuum, civil war is a serious option unless the Jong family were alone in being stark raving nuts.

I hope this isn't real because the last thing the world needs is North Korea in a bad mood causing drama again. The sad part is just before Kim Jong-il's death he was actually opening up the country, then Jong-un set the clock back around 3 decades.

Every year that passes reunification of any kind looks harder than harder. In fact, the refugees who actually get to South Korea still struggle with poverty and lack of education.

As for a civil war, other than screwing over China a bit, I doubt the US would have any interest in North Korea. The land is worthless, it's been fully stripped. Even trees have rapidly been deforested (during the famine years of the 90s some kids even ate tree bark! o.O)

It was reported that Un had an uncle that basically ran the show, but there was talk of him being exiled or executed at one point. If he's still about, I suspect he'll seize control. If not, Un apparently has a sister that has been actively involved in the past. Either way, it's certainly worrying for the Korean people as any new dictator will probably "legitimise" themselves through a campaign of fear and terror.

I can only wonder how the rest of the World will respond to a Korean civil war. Would the likes of America and China sit on the sidelines? Probably not.

He doesn't do things by halves, he had one uncle executed with an anti aircraft gun.

America don't do wars for the land, they do it for strategic position. North Korea shares a border with China. I'm sure the USA would love a couple of military bases around there.

US Military Bases around the world, this may be out of date, they probably created another 10 yesterday.

I cant believe SK only has one it must be gigantic considering how many US soldiers were there post Korean war.

It wouldn't probably worth invading North Korea to to be a few extra miles to China.

I think the US has or had a whole island in SK for their base.

You're mistaken if you think Trump acts for strategic interest. I could see him intervening just to distract the US population from the current shit storm.

That's a good point. Invade iran or somewhere else and get teflon on board.

Suddenly they are great war heros.

Teflon would love it. And the daft comparison to churchill would gain ground
