......this weekend, we went to Norwich City in a league game. The wife and I attended the game and came back with PIN on the train.
I remember waving to Mutley from the stand. He was locked out !!!!!
There is a bit of a gap between the two clubs now.
Good day out that was. We took the lead if I remember right and Mickey Nelson was playing for them. At dinner time ( lunchtime to the posh Hartlepool folk  )it was snowing.
We used to go to some big grounds during our League one seasons.
I wonder if we'll ever play the likes of Norwich, Southampton, Leeds, Leicester, Sheff Utd, Sheff Wed, Bournemouth, Nottingham Forest, Hull etc., ever again in a league fixture.

There's been plenty of lows and more highs than I was expecting since supporting pools since the mid 70s.
Having to wait till 1991 v Northampton on the last day of the season to witness my first. Promotion as a Poolie will always stay in the memory.
And that era between 10 n 20 years ago was a bit special.
Ah well just maybe we punched above our weight in that era and normal service has been resumed.
And agree with Mutley that I think them days will remain in the history book.
To the younger generation of poolies live in hope and keep giving the team your brilliant support.
UTP.

Only 11 years since we got a 2-2 draw with Leicester, Porter and Monkhouse scored for us and Steve Howard (anybody remember him?) got both for Leicester. Seven years later, Premier League champions and National League strugglers.

At least we still have the memories of those days.............nobody can take those away.
The first person we looked for on away days was Mr PIN, who used to stand in all weathers outside the grounds selling Monkey Business and related merchandise. We've chatted to him just about everywhere and still do, the latest being the visit to Meadow Lane, where he spotted us.
We had the Poolie youngsters mesmerised on that train back from Norwich with our tales of Pools and not one tale was embellished in the slightest ..................... honest!!
