I'm sure some of the songs weren't out in 66/67 either....but that never stopped my enjoyment of the film!!!! :coool:

Anorak!!

Nah, seriously, this is the film that got me my radio gig here in China. This week we've moved from 107.4 to 101.3 FM. That means nowt to you, I know, but it's the equivalent of going from Radio 4 to Radio 2, and there's a million more listeners. I can't wait for the Dead Kennedy's era!!

Anorak!!

The single in question was "A Whiter Shade Of Pale" by Procol Harum, which when re-issued in 1972 was on the "Fly" label, so they were obviously playing the wrong record to the soundtrack. I was born to point out cock-ups like this!

Anorak!!

I thought that was on Deram anyway..... sctatchinghead sctatchinghead

Might the Duffer have a contract with a media corporation have film and music interests? I think they call it synergy but it does look a lot like product placement. I have a horrible feeling that her career is leading to a terrible Dusty Springfield bio-pic.

What's the "Hurt Locker" about, as I assume it's nothing to do with a work cupboard where someone keeps their overalls, which is accidentally damaged by one of the cleaners?

I didn't really rate Hurt Locker to be honest.

I watched the 1st series a few months back and ended up buying the lot of ebay, it is very addictive but it does get very silly as it goes on they end up turning into the A-team  but i couldnt help but watch it all

A better series to watch is Dexter, has anyone watched it ?

Dexter is really good TV, I have watched the first 2 series and have series 3 waiting to be watched once I get my laptop fixed. Series 4 started in America a few months back as well

The Dragon and I watch Dexter, I reckon she watches it cos' she fancies the main character, whereas I watch it for the gory bits, oh and the fit birds.

Probably because we used to watch Six Feet Under an' all.

I'm a big fan of Dexter. Season 4 finished here a few weeks ago and IMHO it's the best yet. John Lithgow is the serial killer being hunted by Dexter ... and the final show is jaw-dropping.

It's top notch Mr V. That end just comes right out of the blue.

I've just had a look at Showtime, the US TV network, and it has renewed Dexter for a fifth season. It's being filmed now and is set to premiere in the US in September 2010.

Really enjoyed the first series, but since then a few things have started to annoy me with increasing regularity

1) It's all over the place with its plotting. The writers could really do with watching something like The Wire to get an idea on how to handle a large ensemble cast.
2) The writers are far too fond of saying "aha surprise!". How many times do we need to see that he is really his father, and she is her long lost sister, and those two are brothers, etc. It crossed the silly threshold somewhere early in Series 2 and it's still accelerating
3) Related to point 2: if you're going to put your characters in a dangerous situation, it helps if you don't make them so impossible to kill off. There must have been a dozen or more situations where a major character has been killed, or put in situations where they SHOULD have been killed. All happily brought back / resurrected / time travelled. No peril for the characters = no engagement from the audience when those characters are put in "danger".

A series that has lost its way a little for me. The writers appear to be making it up as they go along. I get the feeling the success of the first series caught them by surprise and they never intended it to run so long.

I did enjoy Prison Break a lot, though Series 3 was a bit naff. confised

Watched Lovely Bones last night.
No, not Victoria Beckham but it's based on the best selling book about a girl who was murdered and helps her killer to be caught from beyond the grave.
Decent film but not a patch on the book!!

21 is a good film enjoyed that, the hangover is a decent comedy, not a serious film and it wont change your life, but it has its funny moments, decent tea time film.

I watched clockwork orange last year, i just dont get it, maybe it's over my head but i thought it was an awful awful film.
