Rather whelmed to be honest.

Hopefully the players react the right way and carry on their displays.

Do we know exactly what happened with regard to Toure and Challinor at Fylde?

He was the best candidate out of those linked to the job and we’ve never probably appointed someone with a better record. Sweeney has done great but I feel people are possibly going a little overboard I reckon this is this is a good thing for him he’s going to be involved in the new set up when he does get the job he’ll be even more ready. It would probably only take a couple of defeats for the same people blowing smoke up his arse now to start banging their gums about cheap options and should have gone for an experienced manager.

Sweens got the bounce, spoke brilliantly, but I'd imagine would have struggled when results dried up.

Absolutely spot on! Sweeney's time will come but for now we'll have a manager who's record far and away surpasses that of any manager we've had in recent past.

Just to reassure me, are there more examples of managers with great records changing clubs and succeeding than there are of those with great records who failed?

This is what Dave Challinor said when Gime left Fylde:

“Gime moved on initially with our best wishes,” said Manager Dave Challinor. “He and his agent were looking for things that we as a club could not give him, nor had he earned as of yet.”

“The disappointment in his departure is that he had been ‘injured’ and ‘unable to train’ for the past two weeks, yet miraculously starts for Sutton less than 48 hours later, completing most of the game, which maybe tells people more about his character than they thought and probably explains why he’s no longer at the club.”

Obviously not, otherwise the trend would be for clubs to keep managers rather than sack them on average every 1.23 years!
Also, managers with great records generally don't end up at Pools!

Slightly odd that this is announced but there are still some contractual issues with Fylde to be resolved. Presumably this will be due to him getting a job so quickly and therefore reducing the amount they will pay off his contract. Nothing to do with Pools.

I can’t see what contractual stuff there is too settle, he got sacked end off, he didn’t leave too manage Pools where as if he did there would be compensation required.

He's probably due compensation after being sacked. I doubt it's a case of Pools owing money.

Probably right, the quicker he gets a new job the less the compensation will be, it’s not as if Pools tapped him up and he resigned meaning Pools would be liable for compensation.

It should not been announced until he put pen too paper, he has always managed in the North West so I can’t see him relocating the family. Craig Harrison moved the family up here, Mike Newell maintained he had bought a property in the area as well.
I think anyone who is the Manager wouldn’t really consider investing in a property in Hartlepool due too our track record over the years of sacking managers.
BTW I have a property too rent in Bishop Cuthbert, it would ideal for Challinor although I would like a long term rental ?
