Went up to the Cluny in Newcastle this afternoon, waited outside in the drizzling rain until they opened at 12.00, jokingly said to my mate if I say I am the drummer in the band and my name is Baker they might let us in early. About 30 minutes later I received a text from my daughter informing me Ginger Baker had died. Unreal or what?

It would have been in the poor fella hadn't been at death's door all week.

I don’t think he’s been well for few years but didn’t know he had been at deaths door!

Great drummer whose only problem was he didn't know when to stop drumming and hand back to the rest of the group.
Still a great drummer though when he eventually did.
