Alright then we have a space in the squad and possibly a little bit of wiggle room in the budget who are we signing?

The ever elusive 20 goal a season fox in the box that nobody else has noticed and we can snap up for £200 a week? What’s Micheal Mols up to these days?

A right back who can deal with long diagonal balls?

Jason Kennedy? Oh no sorry we can be linked to him for once.

Personally I’m going for a steady and experienced left back or centre back, it’s not an obvious or easy one though as our squad is probably too big but looking at our start we have room for improvement. Getting the players we have fit would be a start, maybe a short term loan who isn’t a kid someone with plenty of football league experience?

Looking at our squad when all fit do we really need anybody new in?

If Molyneux is gonna be more than a couple of more weeks then maybe we could do with a like for like in the short term, but even that necessity is questionable with Hawkes now fit again.

Don’t have to bring someone in and spend money for the sake of it, maybe better off saving it to if or when the need is greater.

Wouldn't bother, we have players who aren't getting a sniff of the first team, give them a chance. Adam Bale anybody?!

Agree with Mr. Ripper. I personally feel the squad is still a bit on the bloated side, would rather keep the money aside until someone is maybe injured or goes somewhere else and we need a replacement quickly.

If we were forced to spend, maybe like you said PJ, a short term loan would be the best option. They worked fairly well last season.

I would be looking to add another pacy striker if at all possible.

I'll settle for another pacy striker who scores goals. We've already got one who doesn't.

When Hignett made his signings for this season I wonder if he had planned ahead, Luke Williams persistent injuries- will he ever be fit again? Noble-loose cannon he seems? I for one thought he would have left in the summer to play higher up, when in fact he has dropped two divisions. We seem better off in midfield than anywhere else? Jason Kennedy was signed quite late on should be able to replace Noble and Holohan hasn’t featured as much as he might but looks capable enough when he has. Plus Featherstone is a better technical player than he is given credit for.

It’s odd that we all know now that Noble has dropped down two leagues to play for Morpeth Town on similar wages it is alleged to what he was getting here as a full-time pro? still not on the Hartlepool website? . I doubt if we have ever seen the best of Noble despite him being our top scorer last season.

I wonder if Donaldson’s head will be turned next as he coaches at Newcastle town with Noble & Morpeths manager? They probably couldn’t afford his wages but have afforded Nobles as I believe the club owner isn’t short of a bob or two. Molyneux should be back soon so we seem to be ok in midfield plus there is the loan market to tap into.

Noble clearly was peed off when he was taken off against Chesterfield & seemed to have a go at Hignett, as I sit near the tunnel this was quite apparent. The way Higgy has managed the Noble situation and the debacle against Chesterfield has really impressed me, I think he as a man manager is a lot tougher than I thought he was.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Luke William’s retire if he remains crocked (hopefully not & he comes back and becomes player of the season!).
