Hopefully can start arranging friendlies every week or so, must be hard managing a big squad with no reserve games.

Sounds like Josh Hawkes played well - 3 assists!

Holohan too according to the Carlisle News & Star

What a ridiculous picture that is of Kabamba, looks like he's being lifted into the air by some mysterious invisible force.

The centre back for Kabambas 3rd clearly couldnt be arsed.

Carlisle are struggling in League Two so far this season and if that's the standard of their fringe players it's no wonder. Only a practice match but their manager was at the game.

Watching it again, he actually runs away from Kabamba, god knows what he would do if it was Toure doing stepovers as him.

All good signs really, none of them players have started in our last few games and cant see many if any getting in whilst we are on unbeaten run. Hopefully Hignett can try and organise a friendly every other week or so.

As Hignett has said this is the best squad he has ever had here and surely one of the best in our league. It's just a case of getting the best out of them, hopefully we have settled on a way of playing now, our run continues and confidence grows.

Agree. Pools would have gone 5th if they had won on Saturday. Looking at the other results that afternoon and the current table it's clear that no team is a runaway favourite. I think that Pools are one of three or four clubs that have the potential to win the league outright if they play consistently well.

It's a big if because the pattern of the first two seasons in the National League has been a horrible slump in late autumn that has more or less killed off talk of promotion before Christmas. If we can avoid that and be there or thereabouts going into the New Year it's going to be an exciting season!

Encouraging that Pools played the same system against Carlisle with the likes of Richardson, Holohan, Featherstone, Hawkes and Kabamba ready to slot in as and when needed.

yes agree with you and hignett. there will always be players you like more than others and some you should think should start over others. pools will not win every game and neither will the others. would settle for the position we are in by christmas and really push on in the new year. much better than the crock of shite of two seasons ago no matter what happens in the end.

Come the end of the season I'd be disappointed with anything less than the play-offs, I'm sure Raj is thinking the same. Having seen what we are up against though in terms of opponents an automatic spot is well within our capabilities.
