Spot on - nearly everything has been done to lay the groundwork for a successful season in this league - the 'nearly ' being we still need a pacy left back who knows how to defend.

Looking forward to the announcement next week!

I like the positivity and the obvious determination to get us back into the football league. i am looking forward to the Vic being full again. That would be something.

very positive without going OTT like some owners do. only time will tell but even i am more positive than the last two seasons at this time. just hope the majority give the lads a chance if they dare loose a couple of games early on as its about 46 games and no one has been promoted or relagated in early september.

It is a massive change in club strategy to inform us of what is going on both on the playing side and the business side of things with such transparency. Next step is setting up the new web site and the free ciommentary for all the ex pats or the infirm in Hartlepool who can not make it to the Vic,and you DO NOT need to be over 75 to qualify. One thing I would look at is the on the day pricesas sometimes there only seems to be season ticket holders there which is no good for cash flow and it is strange the increase when prices are reducedthe crowd goes
up.If the price reductions were only when a larger away support is expected like against Chesterfield or Stockportit would attract larger home support. What if season ticket holders from Boro,Sunderland or Newcastle got in for a tenner on production of said season ticket we may get more when their team are away.Wepp done and hoping for a successful season.

Stockportit had plenty of knockers and many have suggested manager Jim Gannon is one of the biggest around.

Anyone can access commentary to every game on the BBC Sport website or app.

Is there a Hooters in Stockportit?

The majority of actual fans - the ones who buy tickets - always do give the lads a chance. The way the attendances held up in the depths of last season's rubbish home form was incredible.

The cynics and worse who only ever come on the Bunker to try to get the manager sacked will be back as soon as there's a couple of bad results. They'll wet themselves if it happens in August!

Could be effective marketing ploy to get those additional 1k tickets sold to ensure budget can be met, or am I a synical bounder :confusion-confused:

In part it's certainly an attempt to shift more season tickets and yes, to meet the budget but so what? Why wouldn't he want to and why wouldn't you expect him to? But its also him sticking to his word about openess and 'we're all in this together'.

From the start Raj was clear that the deal was that it was a partnership with the town and him. He would put the money up to keep it going but that was not limitless, the town would have to come to the party too by buying season tickets and contributing wherever possible.

What is certain that Raj is not in it for the money, we know this because there wasn't any. Whatever went on at Darlo and the way I heard it (from Scott Thornberry) was in line with the above except Raj did put his hand deep into his pocket but the fans didn't chip in for season tickets, Raj Singh has to date been a man of him word and there is absolutely no reason in my view not to support the bloke in any way possible. I thought he was genuine the first time I met him and I have seen no evidence whatsoever to change my opinion.

Offering the deal you suggest for season ticket holders of mags mackems and smoggies is a brilliant idea and if they were allowed to bring a kid for a quid or something similar that could make the idea better still.

The above is true, especially about it costing him money. Anyone who took on the arena was always going to be feeding a big mouth. However the gripe we have is the way he went on at the end. Theres no forgiving how he acted towards the players at first by refusing to pay some of them (mainly those who had signed that summer after taking his word that the club was stable and he was in for the long haul) and then towards the fans who were trying to save the club by basically acting like a twat.

Thats something we tried with limited success.
Thing is though why give discounts just because they support another team? Is that fair on the hard core who cant afford a season ticket?

I’m not sure how well it would go down with regular pay on the gate fans to be honest if you did it all of the time why should a Boro fan get in for half the price? Especially if they are from the Town, but it could be a good idea a few times a season, International breaks being the obvious time. I honesty think all the club needs is a decent season though the support is there if we are winning on a regular basis the trouble is that it’s so long since we did, it’s got to change sometime soon surely!?

I totally agree with Mr I’s post as well regarding Raj, again we just need a good season.

a big no from me. sod em, they,ve decided to support boro on a regular basis so if they want to come for the odd game let em pay the full price like i do. cannot come to every game as i cannot afford it with the cost of fuel and train involves at least 2 changes plus a pay day loan to pay for it.
