Boris wins, Hunt second.

I wonder how many Boris supporters voted for Hunt to get rid of the turncoat Gove...

PS: I’ll be voting for Boris in the members vote on behalf of you lot!

The only decent thing to come out of Brexit is that it’s irreparably fucked the Conservative Party.

It’s comical even now that a bloke who only picked sides at the last minute before the referendum as it best fit his own ambitions within the cesspit but actually wanted a narrow remain win is going to get his wish and become Prime Minister. In a fair and just World that would have happened three years ago, as it was his ambition then but his mortified face spoke a thousand words on the night his side ‘won.’ Its an embarrassment that Boris Johnson is going to be our PM, an absolute scandal.

A General Election should already be scheduled, the terrifying thing is I don’t see anyone worth anybody's vote who can get us out of the shit.

Farage who’s stood in 7 general elections and is yet to even be an MP forming a coalition government with a Prime Minister hardly anyone wants.

Seems likely....

Who’s going to vote for a party who are only focused and actually united on one issue in a general election? Even if they did get the votes Farage is going to have pretend to be furious with Johnson on October 31st when we don’t leave the EU so how would they work together?

I can't imagine anything worse than a general election now. Conservatives will get slaughtered, not to the extent of the last two recent elections but still. Labour won't make any gains, and will in fact lose out to the Lib Dems. Lib Dems will gain massively due to anti brexit but everyone has actually forgotten about the rest of the policies and then may not like the higher taxes. Nobody will gain enough to govern. Labour and Lib Dems will fight over Brexit too as the hard left don't like the EU either. Labour voters that voted Brexit will be pissed off with Labour for turning on them and we end up in exactly the same position with the EU with a government in even more chaos and less of a clue how to get out of it. i know it's bad now, but at least it's clear on whats wanted, whether we agree with it or not. A Party not actually knowing what it wants is a far more dangerous proposition.

Presumably you were asleep during the Euro elections.

I was awake for the part when the Tories got a staggering 9% of the vote.

So the Euro elections are the same as a general election? Not really, Farage has always done better in those plus in the current climate those results were hardly surprising. When it comes to a manifesto for actually running the country and getting the candidates pulling in the same direction when they only really agree on one thing is another matter. I can see similar results and people voting for his party as they did during his UKIP days which got him nowhere. A decent indicator was the Peterborough bi election.

I love it on here when politics comes up. Like a First World War battle two sets of inflexible old men take up fixed positions for the rest of eternity and bombard each other with their dogma. I do like how Mr I likes to organise a trench raid.
Politicians are all shite and I really don’t know how anyone can nail their colours to the mast of dogma for life. scratching head

Agree Snowy that peoples political views change throughout life with differing life experiences helping to form them.
I think though we are now in an era of political gymnastics and political camouflage nationally and locally with UKIP, Brexit Party and Change UK but most notably with the "Independents" in Hartlepool.

but are these people actually independent and only saying they are as they know they would never get elected in the first place if they stated they supported a certain party or other. do not think anyone is totally independent but at least they can vote with their contious and not follow a certain party line that they might not agree with. in the past i,ve agreed with every party on some issues and disagreed with them on about the same number.

History says otherwise. The party name might have to change if it gets completely discredited but 'small c' conservatives will always around and ready to vote for a party that says they can keep what's theirs and those less fortunate can bugger off.

That nonsense last night was ridiculous.

1. A couple have an argument
2. Shouting was heard
3. Police called and decided there was nothing to see here
4. Neighbour hovers with recording device which she kept handy just in case and immediately rang the Guardian.

Personally I reckon the big story is number 4.

How in all seriousness can you say you hope political opponents will die soon? How trite life has become to say such things. It may be acceptable in certain countries, so maybe a transfer to one of them would give you a political system you’d be comfortable with.
I have no time for the blue rinse brigade, but I do not wish them dead.

The average age of the Tory party membership is old..... they will die earlier than a younger average age group.

This will lead to the Tory party disintegrating (subject to a turn around in membership) of which I am hugely glad.

Nobody can be smug about the political situation in our nation at the moment. We’re a vacuous laughing stock. A bunch of self interested, inexorably condescending, utterly out of touch pillocks fighting over sound bites and failing miserably to realise that 95% of us are struggling every day to keep our heads above water.

And what do we do? We buy into the feckless cult of personality that politics has become. Bollocks to policy and manifesto and vision and intent.

I’ll vote for him because he shouts the loudest and enables my thinly veiled racism.

I’m not voting for him because the papers tell me he’s weak and disrespectful and doesn’t like the queen. And he looks silly in a hat.

If people are getting excited at any politics in our nation anymore then I give up.

We’re utterly fvcked.

Boris Johnson’s whole political career has been spent with carefully messed up hair and his shirt hanging out being ‘oh you know Boris’ when shit gets real he’s finished.

Farage with his fags and pints fake image, being an ex City Boy with a 4m pound house in Chelsea, who swallows this crap.

I’ve never known Mr I ‘abuse’ anyone on this board. I can only conclude you’ve lead a sheltered life and being even gently challenged gives you the ‘vapours’.
Or, it’s the old shout of victimhood, which if you repeat it often enough in certain sheltered circles silences your critics. Wasting your time here if you try that one.

who is really bothered if someone has a row with their misses or partner. does not bother me one bit if johnson, corbyn or any of the others have a sodding row. good job i,m an unknown as they,d have had a permanent reporter and cop car outside my house for my regular spats with wives. you,d think this country had no problems and we all lived in utopia if thats a story. next big headlines will be about a row he has with a nosey busibody neighbor.

I can't help thinking what the media reaction would have been if instead of Bojo it was Corbyn in this story.

I also suspect that not all of the recording has been divulged yet.

Boris might well be shitting himself about what else has been captured on tape, ready tobbe dropped at the convenient moment.

unless he,s given her a good slap i just cannot see what all the fuss is about. what actually is a bigger concern to me is the bloody nosy neighbor. just cannot get my head around people like that. once it was said that good walls make good neighbors. seems another bit of anyones privacy has gone for good. even hermits in caves will suffer someone spying and/or having CCTV installed on the cave.

Just read this in the Rochdale Herald (a quality publication).

Boris Johnson’s girlfriend has apparently told a befuddled Boris Johnson that leave means leave during a heated row at her flat in the early hours of this morning.

Despite explaining that “leave” means “get out” several times Mr Johnson is still in the flat demanding access to all of her utilities, the food in her fridge and her vagina.

“Just because Mr Johnson will no longer be in a relationship with Ms Symonds it doesn’t mean he can’t enjoy all the benefits of being in a relationship with Ms Symonds.” A spokesman for Boris Johnson told The Rochdale Herald.

“Obviously he’s still going to enjoy tariff free access to blowjobs and will continue to enjoy staying in the flat whenever he wants rent free without making a contribution to either rent, utilities or council tax.”

“Saying that Mr Johnson would have to remain in the relationship to get free blowjobs, rent free accommodation and three square meals a day is just remoaner nonsense.”

Owen Jones is left wing so anything he says doesn't count. It's all true but he's a politically motivated lefty so the wisest course of action is to ignore him and cheer Boris on as he leads us to good old fashioned imperial glory.

Well well well, there’s a surprise Boris shitting himself at the thought of being questioned live on tv, he’s decided it is not for him. An absolute shyster, what excuses can ANYONE who either voted for him or even wanted him to be PM throw out now. The bloke is an absolute numpty who is shit scared of being out there on his own and being tripped up time and time again. He has realised the enormity of the job he thought he could do.

No, I'm sticking with Boris. I don't think many people will be fooled by a couple of Corbyn supporters with a sound recorder and an email address for the guardian newsdesk.

Gosh this is disappointing to learn Mr. I - you (allegedly) still supporting Boris !
What is mystifying is why the police originally flatly denied that they'd been called to the flat - - - now I don't generally subscribe to conspiracy theories but I suspect intervention (s) from ? ?
