Potential buyers not getting access to the books......

Missed out on the play offs - despite heroics on the pitch from a mistreated and depleted squad.

What will the owners now do?

Take the bond back (if there's any left) and run?

Great story about Cala's underpants on the Heed Army facebook.....................

What now for Gateshead? Anyone know anything?

Hignett has bid £10k for their entire squad.

He tried that but they've got their eyes on some players in Northern Leagues One and Two.

They've set a target of £50,000 - and have over £7,000 so far - but surely this is nowhere near sufficient............even for a phoenix starting down a few leagues..............

It might be fun to arrange a legends match against them. They get some of their best former players together and we get some of ours and let them keep the proceeds. Ben Clark could play for both teams.

They'd be better doing a one against Newcastle if they want to raise money.

If each Newcastle fan had donated £1 at the Liverpool game the target would have been reached. Then again, why should they when the FA do FA to protect small clubs and prevent it happening over and over.

50,000 is sod all in football nowadays. makes me sick with all the money splashing around in the premier league that a team could go to the wall over a sum like that. not long ago north ferriby went because of an unpaid 7,500 bill. done my bit by cancelling sky years ago and wish other fans would follow. you are not missing that much.

You only want the one statue? I'd say you deserve one in each corner under each floodlight (just to show you in the best light to every supporter) , plus a free season ticket for life?

Surely its the least they can do for you?

Surely no one would send an email asking for more recognition?

Talk about yourself in the third person also, pretending you can't seem to recollect your own name.

Is this the same 'supporter' who was spamming the clubs facebook page saying he would never go again if they appointed Bates as manager?

Are we going to see an ownership model involving the fans (Gateshead Soul) and a 'businessman' (Dunphy?)? Can't see how the fans alone could make it work - but whatever, good luck to them.

That's what I presumed when I read the story. Not belittling any efforts as I'm sure getting those two crooks to agree to selling the club for £25k was incredibly difficult and took some serious negotiation skills, surely it now gets even harder. With such low crowds how can they offered to pay full time players, rent the stadium etc etc. They bought a club very quickly, they've going to need to serious help even more quickerly.

Unless I've missed a load of info!

Gone. What a shitty way to finish - and my total sympathy to the guy who put up the £25K to get rid (or so he thought) of Ranjandanadingdong. And to Gateshead Soul - you tried hard.

No surprise with what the National League has done - just a shame that it has taken so long - and when, oh when, will the authorities start wising up about iffy owners.
