No doubt they will bag a couple at least against us, but it may not be enough even if Orient lose.

Should be an entertaining game anyroad.

I wish people were saying poor old Hartlepool with us a home win against Harrogate or Eastleigh then a Wembley Final away from promotion!

The fixtures meant that today was always going to be a day when Salford had to win Orient aren’t going lose at home to Braintree, I wouldn’t be surprised if they rested players at the Vic next week with the play off semi in mind. I’m pleased for Orient, proper club with decent fans. I hope we follow soon!

I was being sarcastic. After their fans had been giving it large pre-season, looking out of their depth then looking like they might win the title, they blew it at home.

Expect they will win the play-offs mind.

I wouldn`t hold your breath based on that, you couldn`t have anticipated such an inept performance in front of 1140 travelling fans, with 2 centre halves that Hignett signed who were as bad as anything you have seen in a Pools shirt (03 to present), the level of fuckwittery was to be believed, out paced, out thought and out of ideas, I wish you could have seen it so you don`t think I`m making it up!
If Kerr is what he basing his defence on next year, we are doomed, doomed I say :angry-screaming:

Why do you always pick out and absolutely slaughter individual players? Especially a young lad and recent signing? It’s a very poor trait. It sounds like we were poor all over the pitch.

I suppose the slight inspiration you can take is that Orient finished last year on four more points than we’re on now. So that type of improvement isn’t impossible at this level, they are proof of that without spending a fortune.

Because they were the main cause of the 15 attempts at goal, the reading of the game was woeful, how shall I point out the deficiencies so as not to offend your delicate self?
It isn`t just the way we played, Hignett left them on for 93 minutes, the future is not bright!

2,900 at Salford Today add to the 1,500 Fylde got in the play offs, what’s the point in playing this at Wembley? Accrington is a closer and more suitably sized venue.

The El Plastico play off final tells you all you need to know about this awful League!

I think the owners might hire a hundred buses, a couple of planes and pay 50,000 people from the north west to go and support the biggest team in Manchester!!!!

it does show one thing though that financial backing is more important than having a fan base. the two biggest bankrolled sides in the division playing each other in the final. never thought i,d ever want sheep shagging wrexham to go up out of the play off sides but i certainly did this season.

Try telling that to PJ, see the Spennymoor thread.

Try telling me what? All that’s coming across is an overriding bitterness towards bloody Spennymoor from you!!!

Financial backing certainly helps but generally the best teams do well, Leyton Orient won the League not Salford. Solihull finished higher than then both play off finalists, Macclesfield were skint and won it last year.

There are always cases when getting a good team together on a shoe string works.
However look at National North, a club like Stockport have taken years to get out of it despite being the best supported club at that level, and possibly in non league as a whole. Pub teams with a sugar daddy always seem to do well.

they are the best teams due to their financial backing. nothing againt spennymoor at all but like plenty of others they should never forget north ferriby, a club built on money and not fans.
