Would all be fine, they've got underground trains and robots. Be like a radioactive theme park down there.

Also kids with two heads would be cleverer so the population would soon be cleaning up on quiz shows. Plus everybody is already relaxed about radiation because of living with a dodgy power station for ages. I can't see any possible down side to all this.

It sounds like something could create a lot of well part jobs so I’m not sure it should be dismissed out of hand.

Plus the three eyed fish could prove to be a tourist attraction.

Well probably not, has the Power Station? I doubt any proposed site is going to be near a built up area. I would pay more live near underground trains and robots. They might have open days were the kids can put the suits on and handle a bit of uranium.

My "neighbour" has just suggested putting it underneath London cos they've already got underground train facilities not being used.

It’ll happen knowing our luck.
“Daaaaaaad, why does Hartlepool have no street lights but the gardens glow?”

We have artics running into town by the hundreds dumping shit to be processed.... that’s what passes for green industry in Hartlepool, might as well start bringing the ultimate shit of shits in and go completely mad.
They’ll probably give the Councillors a decommissioned nuclear sub for the Historic Quay.

Could create plenty of jobs.

The possibility of it being proposed anywhere south of the South of Lincolnshire is zero. If our local rock strata consisted of a mixture of plasticine. Blackpool rock and gravy, it would get the thumbs up.
If there’s jobs going, can we just have the head office based here and the radioactive waste buried in the Home Counties or Plutoium on the Wold.

Oh, it'll be fine, it's all deep underground. Fine till the council agrees a fracking application as well.

If the Devil put a planning application in for a subsidiary of Hell behind the the Asbestos World theme Park and next to Plutonium Ponds Health Spa, I dare say it would go through.

yes but think of the government subsidy for the area and the northern powerhouse. a great boost for the area and tourism.

Ah, this brings back memories.... I wonder if anyone has the old "Billingham Against Nuclear Dumping" Car Stickers around from when they wanted to put stuff in the old ICI Anhydrite Mine, cross out Billingham and put Hartlepool and job's a good'un.

I even remember a certain rising star from the Labour Party coming to speak in Billingham Town Centre, I might even be on the footage somewhere looking bored behind him - Neil Kinnock!

Ha! That brings back memories for me too. Not of slippery shitehawk Tone, but of Councillor Maureen Taylor, a bloody-minded feminist Catholic who was only ever pleasant to me when she'd had a few whiskies and needed a lift home. But the Billingham Against Nuclear Dumping campaign was her finest hour - she well and truly stuck it to the men in suits and their Tory backers.

Do they still make 'em like Maureen any more? Not sure.
