https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/motorsport/47279862

Tearing around a circular track flat out inches away from the next car no room to overtake or do anything skillfull. Why are Americans sports so boring, basketball, baseball ( Bloody rounders with a bigger bat! ) American " football" :angry-tappingfoot: The " World " series ( only Americans allowed in it ) FFS!

looks like an average night for the boy racers at Teesside Park to me.

But your question could be 'What's the point of F1 when it's boring as fuck and decided by tyre strategies and the unplanned interventions of the safety car?'

Thrills and spills man, isn't that the whole point of racing?

(and at least nobody got hurt - this time!)

Well, maybe their sports are boring, but to redeem themselves they've provided the world with some outstanding music over the last 100 years.

Have to agree with the comments about the boredom value, but the World Series was so called because when it started it was sponsored by a newspaper called The World.

To be fair, Mr zonfil, that sounds about as likely as American football being so called because the ball measures a foot in length.

By the way (general comment, not directed at you especially), there are indeed two countries involved in the World series. That makes it only half not really the world at all.

Wasn’t the World Series named after the paper who sponsored it...?

Well you learn something every day.
However, the idea it was named after a newspaper would have been more appealing than the truth of it. Being the ‘World series’ of a sport most of the world has no interest in* is a tad egotistic.

* I realise there are minority people who like this sort of thing in this country, but it’s usually geeky groups, the sort who do war gaming ‘workshops’, learn to speak Klingon or declare their religion as Jedi and have a huge collection of black T shirts with their world philosophy printed on the front.
