2 - 0 to Pools.

A fantastic all round performance.

Goals coming either side of half time from Karamba and James.

3,201.

198 from Solihull.

After watching that first half and the way we were pummelled by Solihull, it makes me wonder if we have watched them play, hoofing the ball up to giants is not the best plan and although second half we changed and played it from the back, why wait for 45 minutes to alter play sctatchinghead

And yet again we have no players at the back post, it`s not rocket salad Craig ffs banghead banghead

Loach had a decent game, shame about that 1 slip up, you would sign him on that display.

He made half a dozen top class saves first half and kept us in the game single handed. Second half starts, we look a different team, all going great - than an absolute rick by Loach gifts them the goal. It's not his fault we didn't get an equalizer.

That was a pathetic performance today, Back to square one, Slow, pedantic, one paced football from Pools.
The club has made massive strides off the pitch but a helluva lot of work to do on it.
If it wasn't for Loach we would have been four or five down at half time.
Sign up Jamie Osbourne from Solihull and build a midfield around him cos that one today is taking us nowhere, especially now it looks as Hawkes is away.
Can't see me rushing back to watch that rubbish. They looked like a pile of strangers cobbled together to make up the numbers and talking of which why only four on the bench?

You have to be honest we were just brushed aside today and if we are to challenge next season hignett must look for pace and strength.
Today kabamba,james,noble,featherstone were found out.

They were just better than us.

Had it not been for Loach we could have been four down by half time.

Anutha result that confirms mass clear out needed.
Midfield weak as piss.
Defence all over the place.
Forwards not much better.

Make or break time next season!

Yeah beaten by the better side. Thought after we survived the onslaught for first 30 mins or so we could maybe nick it and we slowly started to get to grips with the game but the goal came at an awful time.

Solihull a classic non league side, lots of big fuckers and constantly getting the ball in the box, I hope we dont go to quite that extreme but we need more height and nastiness to get out of this league. Theres a balance somewhere and I hope Hignett finds it, yesterdays game could open his eyes to what is needed.

Thought Osbourne strolled through the game, looked a great player.

Got it in one, Derwent.

Typical Loach performance; pulled off some blinding saves but just waiting for a bollocks from a high ball into our box. He appears to be resorting to punching the ball clear lately but still gives me the shits.

Our midfield continues to be non-existent and where is a tackle coming from? Solihull sprayed passes around blindfolded as they instinctively knew where their men were likely to be. We, on the other hand, were abysmal, unable to reach a man from around ten yards and, if they did manage this, the recipient was instantly placed under pressure.

Anderson, played at left back, has a tendency to move inside, revealing acres of space down that flank which means that James has to play deep to shore things up, limiting our options up front. On at least one occasion, James was "marking" their skyscraper No.13 FFS!

When we started the second half, we kept the ball on the deck and ran at them, looking far better and threatening but it didn't last.

That said, I thought Solihull were a good side and close to being the best I have seen, based on that performance.

Once again we were well beaten by a team superior to us in every department. They were faster, fitter, much stronger, better organised, technical far better, and their players seemed to know exactly what they needed to do with ball the instant they received it. No pointless pirouettes, no over elaboration, no dithering, no getting caught, over and over again, in possession. If I'm watching a Pools team playing in a similar style to Solihull next season, I'll be delighted.

I think we need at least one brick shit house up front. We may not enjoy stylish flowing football next season but we'll definitely need someone that can hold up and block for James to arrive on the scene. Kabamba is getting brushed off too easily and won't bulk up anytime soon (if ever) - is he another Devante? . Think Marlon Harewood size. Thanks to the heroics from Loach, we only lost 1-0 on Saturday. Their big lads got through often and I'd hope we can get the same effect. Anyway, I'm hopeful that we can still get enough out of the season to spoil the Salford promotion party.

totally agree. about time people realise without height and pace pools will be stuck in this division for years. even a big strong donkey is better than a weak little one. for me its roll on next season and looking for much better.

Our 2 centre halves are 6ft 4, they are not lacking in height but aggression and the abiity to read the game possibly!
