Tom Acey has a good article on the media's concentration on the angry culture among football fans in this month's issue. Might surprise a few people that he uses his experiences on the Mill House terrace to illustrate the more relaxed approach to supporting that exists in the real world. Think he might be underestimating the levels of hopelessness and resignation that create the calm periods between outbursts of futile rage but still a good read and good to see Pools in there.

And it is the free to read on the website article today so even tight gets can have a look:

OK the caption is taking the piss a bit but the photo does fit with the content of the article pretty well. Anyway, I'm always pleased to see somebody with a bit of talent writing about watching Pools in a national magazine so I thought some other Bunkerites might enjoy it.

Loving the back to the future aspect of reading an article that 'first appeared in March 2019.'

He's spot on - anyone who's weekend is ruined by a defeat really shouldn't be supporting the likes of Pools. I'm reminded of that Geordie maniac in the 1970s who battered his wife to death after getting home radged from a bad defeat away to Coventry City.

And yes, Savage's sidekick regularly gives the impression of knowing fuck all about football himself and only being there to try to wind up fans over Savage's allegedly controversial opinions.
