Do they even support the club the tone of the reporting is as negative as social media.

On the front page of the paper today, front page I repeat;

‘Pools face contract crisis’

Sounds serious that.

Read the article, amazingly some players are out of contract in the summer. Most unusual eh? It lists Loach, Noble, Magnay and Donaldson but he then says Loach and Noble want to stay.

Quote from Hignett saying that a number of players are out of contract in the summer some we want to keep some, some we don’t, again radical stuff.

Then amazingly lists the three loan players deals with us expire at the end of the season, that came as quite a shock. Also if they do well we might make them permanent. Crisis? That’s a positive isn’t it if they are available in the summer and open to a moving here full time?

Anyone found the ‘crisis’ yet, part of the problem last summer was players we didn’t want being under contract. Surely it gives us more chance of putting together a more balanced squad?

Sad to say but it’s desperate The Mail these days, the hashtag on the awful Twitter feed (where 90% of the articles are nothing to do with Hartlepool and just lifted from elsewhere) almost comes across as begging people to buy it.

Is the crisis that they swabbed the players involved and found that 95% of them have traces of fish and chips on them? And a bit of shit, obviously.

If Pools face a ‘contract crisis’, so does every other club at the end of the season.
Can we re jig that headline to what the situation really is ’Several players out of contract at seasons end’ there we are, what happens at the end of season every year at every club.
I could understand the headline if we were a winning team and several star players were out of contract, but we aren’t and they ain’t stars.
Sensationalism.

Who can tell what the crisis is as it's practically impossible to read online because it jumps up and down the page constantly as you move the cursor.

More reflective of the Newspaper industry than another stick to beat the Town with I’d say.

That free paper that comes out once a week is better.

[quote="phil"]Doesn't sound like a crisis to me. Should say "Pools in Contract Dreamland as the Release Entire Playing Squad"

no a contract crisis would mean all the players are contracted next season on improved terms.

Yeah, you carry on defending the indefensible.

The free paper is better, only does good news though, in a town full of bad news, marvellous ! , deluded, bury your head in the sand journalism.

local papers seem to fall into two catogaries. ones that paint everything totally rosy whilst the others knock everything they can. telling things just as they are will probably not sell papers so you get trash headlines with nowt really people do not know anyway in the article. then they wonder why newspapers are dying.

What am I defending here? The stuff about the Mail being reflective of the industry and not the Town is 100% correct. How can you produce Daily Newspapers that are printed the day before in Sheffield?

Also I’d rather read good, positive news about the Town than stuff about Peterlee and Sunderland that’s recycled in the Mail. At least it’s produced by people from the Town and focuses solely on it. Is something having a positive outlook ‘indefensible’ we have enough stress and negativity in life without seeking more! It’s not pretending to be cutting edge journalism or even really journalism.

The Town is like many others it has its issues but it has a hell of a lot going for it as well. It’s my home and I’ll always love it nobody is changing my mind on that how ever dystopian and downtrodden their own outlook is.

Can you give over constantly slagging the town off. It’s no different to any other town in the area.
If you want to have a pop at someone, go to the civic and see who’s running the town. We’re supposed to have a Labour Council, you could have fooled me.
The Mail is dead, that thing that’s called the Mail is unreadable and the free sheet of old photo’s and happy clappy news is is good for paint spills.
We need a proper paper.

They still make the Sport don’t they?

Even they get more Hartlepool related stories than the Mail these days I read one last year about a woman sticking a battered sausage up her chuff outside of Farm Foods. I bet the Mail didn’t even mention that.

More Clickbait this morning

06:12 - Hartlepool United transfer update - the EIGHT deals that could happen for Pools Hartlepool Mail

Will Luka Murphy be sold, will we find a replacement for the not yet left Jake Cassidy, will Lewis Hawkins leave, will Connor Newton leave, will we get a midfielder in, will we get a defender in, will we get a winger in, will anybody have their contracts renewed.

That is the story, redic.
