Newton has had his day but the jury is still out with me on Hawkins.

Hopefully the media departments are all next, we don't need 46.

Neither would be missed in terms of quality, only ever made up the numbers at Pools.

Sort of agree re Hawkins - but he has had chances.

Newton - when not played up top like at Gateshead - looked decent but just too slow.

But are we simply seeing another fire sale here? I agree with moving on players with no future, but I worry that we're just cutting costs as quickly as we can - and, in my humble, there should have been structural changes, saving money, some months back..............

My acid test has always been if they come on off the bench will you be more confident and think they’ll be able to affect a game.
Answer to both is NO.

We clearly need a central midfielder, we have several that aren't good enough.

Seems simple to me, clear out the ones who aren't good enough to bring in one who is.

Hawkins 2 goals in 118 appearances and those were 5 minutes apart in the same game!!!

He’s 25 now past the point of promising youngster, is he an attacking midfielder is he a defensive midfielder? An honest player who seems like a good lad but he’s not good enough really is he? We need a streamlined balanced squad built for winning games in this division. Our midfield needs to improve a lot.

Our midfield is like watching a team of chartered surveyors and accountants having a kick about.

Could it be that Higgy's job is now on the line, that there is some action sorting out the squad?
