The man is an absolute legend

It is a shame he has ended up at a terrible club like Leeds

I saw he said this today

Bielsa says his staff watched all 51 games Derby played last season. Each game took four hours to analyse. "Why did we do that? Because we think this is professional behaviour. It's to try and avoid being ignorant about the competition we're playing in."

I wonder how many managers we have have ever seen opponents play, never mind having them analysed to this extent.

He did a 70 minute press conference that he called himself using power point explaining how he had spied on every opponent Leeds have played this season and used Derby as the example of how he knew every conceivable formation, starting line up pattern of play they would use!!

Obviously sending people to training grounds is a morally overstepping the mark but I don’t really see what all the fuss is about or why he’s under investigation by the Football League he’s broken no rules.

The plumsack that is Stan Collymore was suggesting Bielsa was stupid for calling the press conference and that every Championship club will be contacting solicitors, on what grounds exactly!? I thought it was genius! Lampard accused him of cheating so he hosted for the press a 70 minute presentation on how to beat Derby

He is utterly immersed in football and a perfectionist. What a fantastic man he would be to lead any team that you supported.

I saw that Ryan Giggs said he hadn't seen Gareth Bale play this year as he hasn't got the TV channel for La Liga.

I hope Richard Money has BT sport!

Derby County's training ground is enclosed and the "spy" was in there uninvited and/or without permission. That could be a problem of trespass, especially if he was carrying video equipment. You have to admire the guy's enterprise though. It will be interesting to see how the authorities view it.
Maybe it's another take on Mr Hatman !!

The Police are not taking any further action. The EFL are investigating, now its open seasons for xenophobic pundits like Peter Shilton and plain moronic pundits like Stuart Pearce to have a pop at him.

I'm glad the Police are not taking any action but I suspect that is because Derby haven't reported trespass.
There will be reaction and comment on the situation though cos that's what people do, like we are doing. Nothing wrong with that.

I thought I'd read he was on a public footpath. If so he's broken no laws and I don't believe there are any laws against video recording in public, unless there is a 'reasonable expectation of privacy'. If it's is visible from a public footpath the latter part surely can't apply? If he was on step ladders peering over a fence that would clearly be different.

The thing that surprises me most about this story is that people are surprised by it. Surely knowing your opponent/enemy/competition is as important as knowing your own strengths and weaknesses? Surely any good manager wants any advantage possible over his opponent? It's nothing new and Bielsa's commitment to research is nothing but impressive. To call it immoral is ridiculous, why is there not this level of outrage over clubs deliberately deceiving authorities over sponsorship money or players cheating on the pitch and getting away with it or conmen asset stripping lower league teams.

It's much easier to be outraged as Biesla is an outsider who doesn't speak English. So all the washed up pundits can say what they want unlike if it was a 'real football man' like Redknapp.

It’s hardly the KGB. It’s footy for Christ’s sake. I do not see a problem, it’s reconnaissance, applauded in any other field.

I don't know the full facts behind the headlines but there does seem an element of 'sneaky South American doing something thoroughly un-British' about what coverage I have seen. We prefer our homegrown 'rule-benders', the Redknapp's, the Allardyce's, the Oyston's and Coxhall's, to those from foreign parts, we're xenophobic and proud of it.

Aye, Catweazle Lineker was on banging about it last night.
Forget the xenophobic line, most people in this country would probably see nothing wrong. I’d expect a bit of checking the opposition out to be honest.

It's a bit poor from Sky Sports News that, they have only got Shilton on because Bielsa is Argentinian and clearly haven't briefed him on why he's on before throwing him under the bus.

Shilton apprently has never really got over or let go the hand of God and still would blank Maradona if he bumped into him, he was cheated out of one the bigest games of his career. Plus, we saw Maradona is still quite the twat during the summer, and he's not a great a fan of us (his mental comments after we beat that vile Columbian team being exert A). Sky Sports news are implying 'typical forein cheats' by even getting Shilton on. This is a storm in teacup, as is the way of the World these days. Piers Morgan will probably shouting at people about it with his faux outrage after a contrived Twitter rant once he's finished pretending to give a fuck about an advert for Razors.

After his hilarious Brexit rant, fuck Shilton, I want Warnocks views on it. It's only a shame it didn't happen against Cardiff. If you want to look up Colin's Brexit plan just look at the footage of him gracefully 'shaking hands' at the end of the game with the Wolves manager last season.

I don’t think ‘typical Italians’ is even a particularly xenophobic comment to be honest surrounding this in football, it is typical and normal in Italy and Germany for this to go on and I don’t think even the most staunch Italian fan would deny they are more versed in the dark arts than most, and the Argies are on another level again!! Those three countries have all won more than us though and produce a higher a volume of top class managers and coaches. Our lot shouldn’t be condemning it they should be learning from it and asking them themselves if they work as hard?

Stuart Pearce once brought on a keeper on upfront

He shouldn’t even be allowed to talk about football

No one does bad losers like the English. This Biesla has shown initiative IMO, every club should be allowed to do it if they wish, not convinced you could glean that much from watching a team train , but the most successful clubs leave nothing to chance.

Biesla sends people to watch training and spend 4 hours on every match they play where as according to Chris Turner the opposition used to just check the bunker to see if anyone had posted our line up from our training session on the Friday.

If teams spied on us , it would probably make them over confident

Tommy Miller Snr was in Harrogate yesterday apparently

Putting a goalie up front is nothing new. We started Kenny Simpkins up front and he could score goals. In those days you could challenge the goalie and goalies didn't like that. Of course Kenny knew this and he was a big lad.
Pierce probably got the idea off Cloughie.
Kenny doesn't go to Pools nowadays because of his dodgy knees but his wife Marion attends every home game. Lovely lady and a friend of ours.

Bad losers? Why define a country by a few bubble heads on TV.
I wish our players were bad losers in the sense it hurts to lose, if anything we’re too daft!

I must admit I don't see what the fuss is about. Most training grounds are in areas where it's easy to get a glimpse of what's going on without too much bother. A lot are near residential areas for a start.

And, as many have already pointed out, is a team's gameplan really that big a secret given the coverage top level football gets these days? Even before you could watch every game on TV clubs could send someone along to watch an opponent play and get the basic gist of their preferred line up and strategy.

It gave me a good laugh what he did.
