Braintree top scorer Mo Bettamer with 6 goals(scored against us) is Not under contract at Braintree and is talking to other clubs. He has already proved he can score at this level and could be worth a try.

Luke James proved he can score at this level! It seems we have the opposite effect on goal scores.

I'd give him a try I've just googled him to see what the craic is, I think scoring wise with Luke James he's doing to much to work to score a goal. I watched him put a shift in at Wrexham ,

In my opinion I just think he had a "lucky" few seasons seasons where he was banging in goals. Then obviously he got noticed by other clubs then he got badly advised and fekkked off, Now I think he's got this ex five hundred grand price tag hanging over him every game he plays and still only been 23 year old to!! Plus I think he tries to hard in my opinion, Yeah he does run allover the pitch puts a shift in every match chases lost causes, everything. But what when he's in that age bracket off 30-34-35 maybe, What type off striker will he be then? The amount off injuries that are going to hit him in his late 20s aint going to be good to if he runs like he does every match, he'l be burnt out soon.

I think if you compare Muir and James you can tell James has been coached in his younger teens then I look at Muir he's one off the most "Streetwise" players i have ever seen at pools I think with him getting a proper chance and contract with a proper club and i think he's working his nuts off because he wants to stay in the professional game, Hel go places Niko, I just hope we'l have his services for another 2 good season while we push for playoffs.

Play offs ?

If your asking about playoffs this season we'l just miss out, I think overall this season we'll finish a few places off, In my opinion there are 8-9 better teams in this division than us.

Play offs next season for me, Get money bags Salford out the league and Leyton Orient and who comes down from league 2 will need a season to adjust, That's when we pounce and win the league with a few creative midfielders signed in the summer get another player striker in for James , (Now I'm not saying I don't like him as a player nor as a workhorse he's unbelievable on that front) Just in my view start him a game here and a game there not all off them and start Muir and another striker we can bring in, Bring James on when we are chasing games.

Id say winning the league is possible next season once we get Salford and Orient promoted this season and keep our current squad add 3-4 players and hopefully win the league or playoffs, Then if we don't go up next season we should be 100% up the next, Maximum 3 seasons for me including this one we are already a quarter through or whatever.

I Mean look at the likes off Halifax and Wrexham they have been down in this league a age, Then you have the likes off Barnet, Dagenham & Redbridge they have bounced up and down this league the last few years, Its a hard league to get out off this I think it will be a good 2-3 more season's before we do.

When Carlisle got relegated to this league was it one season and they got promoted Back to the football league? Or 2 i can't remember.

Lets not write this season off its there if we want it.

Reading comments from jeff and raj they are looking at bringing in a forward player so fingers crossed we get a goodun.

As for bates we know we have a team with very little pace so play 5/10 yards further up the pitch and go for 3 points everytime cos we do have decent players and on the odd occasion we may get beat by better team then so be it.

I think mid table as well, but if you want to go up , you have to have aim for promotion not the play offs. If our ambition is the play offs then we will be down here for a few more seasons yet. Not convinced the club want to go up this season anyway.

Judging by this formation and the wing backs , If and a big IF okay? Just imagine if Nathan Thomas was still here skinning people left right and centre and whipping pacey balls in,

Would this formation have to accommodate Nathan Thomas at RWB obviously so he can cut in on his left foot, Or would a player like Thomas spit his dummy out and say I'm not playing boss change the formation or im or not playing , Do you reckon bates will change it to a 442 or another formation to get Thomas that little bit more up the pitch?

What I'm trying to put across is we've got some players that could really benefit from not playing this formation he's playing week in week out we are playing and yes id say we could off got more points on the board if we would have played things differently (Different Formation) But who knows this one might come good for us I'm sure we are working behind the scenes on it every training session. If we are not God know what we are doing.

Thomas wouldnt want to be playing right wing back or left wing back for that matter.

Struggling to get a start for a side at arse end of League 2, cant imagine Sheff United will offer him a new deal either.

His best performances always came on the left of a front 3, not sure either wing back or as an out and out winger in a 4-4-2 get the best out of him either.

Hignett got the best out of him and I presume they had a good relationship. Who knows, maybe if our decline continues and we dont get anymore batches of penalties then Hignett may be in charge soon and want him for his 4-3-3?

Unless of course the injury he sustained here has had a big, lasting effect on him.

I'd rather play the 4-3-3 now and see where it gets us but still there's no point in changing it now, just say we changed things around now who would be your front.? The obvious one being Muir in the centre other than that a can't think off anyone?? Donaldson. any suggestions? To me i cant see James playing in a front three I've seen it and it ain't good in my opinion.s

I think you'd see a different Ryan Donaldson playing in a 3 up top. He looks switched on this season but a lot of his time is wasted at the wrong end of the pitch. Or our clueless midfielders don't pass him the ball when he has half the pitch to himself.
