on some of our neighbour Spennymoors players, they're flying atm. This guy is doing well...https://spennymoortownfc.co.uk/player/glen-taylor/ as well as fellow forward Adam Boyes (not Boyd btw) and midfielder Mark Anderson who have 18 goals between them already this season.

I'm sure we do , but a lot of those players will have good jobs and be quite happy playing at that level part time and still getting paid decent wages on top of say an Electricians wage etc. Also at that level can still go out and have the odd drink etc and get away with it. A good rule of thumb is who else is looking at these players , has any other club signed any of them?. If not, that says a lot.

I would though be looking at who is getting the goals and keeping them out for the likes of Chorley.

I saw an interview with Jason Ainsley saying there's no incentive for the club or a lot of the players to go full time. They're the highest part time club in the region and are pay good wages by all accounts so have a pick of the players in the area.

Going full time would mean a pay cut for a lot of players but also often giving up secure work for a few years of a fickle career is too a big risk to take, especially if they have kids and a mortgage to pay for.

There is nothing wrong with taking a few players on part time. Try it from Jan for half a season and if it doesn't work neither party has lost anything. I don't know the exact circumstances of these players but something could be worked out. They must be curious as to whether they can cut it a bit higher.
I remember Tom Finney being part time for Preston, and he was one of the best players in the world. We had Leo Harden, the flying dustman, and there weren't many players on Pools books fitter than our Leo, or faster. Yes football has changed but has it changed that much at this level??
Don't forget those lads played with heavier kit, pitches knee deep in mud, balls that weighed a ton after ten minutes and without substitutes.
I think it's worth a try, especially if it gives us more fire power.
