It's called 'therefore' syndrome.
Player leaves Pools, player scores a goal, player therefore 'brilliant', player therefore should have been kept. Player therefore 'could have done a job for us'.

Rhys Oates is the taller faster version of Luke James with a better strike rate. So I would say better. Both are absolutely terrible in fairness to both.

Ditto !

James need to raisin his game. That shot on Saturday, weak as piss, with no height on it. Ideally do both , power and height, if not one or the other, but he did neither, that should of been a goal, he can't blame formation or tactics for a miss like that , should of been top corner, failing that at least tested keeper and got the rebound or a corner, garbage.

Are we talking about the same chance here, the only one that was featured on the highlights was one were he got the ball about 40 yards from goal ran with it then hit a shot from about 25 yards with two defenders round him and the keeper made a decent save low to his right. Then they went up and equalised.

That ‘should’ have been a goal? Really? It that is a good chance then we really aren’t creating much at all.

Oates hasn’t got a better strike rate than James either and I wouldn’t be bothered if he did what is your mentality when you’d use a player who doesn’t play for anymore to slag off and slaughter a lad that does? You’d think we were bottom of the League and this group of players weren’t trying a leg. It’s as if because we aren’t losing that many games draws are now acceptable for post match melt downs and hysteria. Oates is bobbins he plays for Morecambe, James is Pools player get behind him.

Haven't seen highlights, so not sure, but they did score soon after, so probably, it could of been a goal for me, however no excuse for weak effort. Not slagging anyone off, just having a conversation on a message board, that is what they are meant for isn't it?.

Personally I would never of signed James and I think we will soon find out why. Okay we are not playing to his strengths , but his finishing leaves a lot to be desired imo and his career record bares this out. Whilst he is here I will get behind him, hence my constant calls in his defence for the club to sign a targetman and play 4-4-2

Sometimes going to Pools is like going to watch the guillotine in action during the French Revolution. There's the elbowing front row of cackling crones knitting furiously as they denounce the next victim to get the 'chop'.

Yes there are a fair few like that, following a club that have never won owt in over 110 years can do that to a person. There are also a fair few who bury their head in the sand and pretend everything is rosy in the garden season after season , yet the outcome is always the same, horses for courses.

There is always a sense of impending doom that prevails, Its shit and I wish it could be another way, but that's the way it is and it won't change until the club is run properly once and for all.

So agreeing that one of our players is ‘absolutely terrible’ is now not slagging him off, proper constructive stuff that

I’m not sure it’s his finishing that’s the issue the first time he was here a lot of his goals were very good finishes, often instinctive sharp half volleys some good headed goals. I think he needs to find a balance between running himself into the ground and actually getting into goals scoring positions, he doesn’t actually seem to get on the end of enough chances. We once sold this lad for half a million quid, he still has something about him.

Where did I say that?. I don't rate him, and probably said so pre-season. Yes he has scored a few good goals. as did Rhys Oates and Devante Rodney. I agree though, all is not lost with James, but can we get the best out of him?. Fans will start to highlight his lack of goals shortly. At least Muir gets the odd one now and again. If he is to succeed , then tactics have to change or else we sign someone who can head a ball , for him to play off in a formation that suits him.

Its a sign of how well we are doing that its usually after a loss that Horden starts spouting this "were shit and I told you so" bollocks. Now its after a draw.

We must be doing something right.

Solely blaming the strikers for the lack of goals is the easy option.

How many clear cut chances are they missing? Not many, because the midfield aren’t creating many so the strikers are running around trying to create them for themselves.

We have no incisive creativity in our midfield, for all the possession that they get the play slows down and stops in the final third.

Williams was obviously signed to address this but unfortunately hasn’t been able to get on the pitch yet. If he is out for more than a couple of more weeks then we need to bring somebody else in to do that job or nothing will change.

Are we talking about Reece 'can't last a full 90' Oates here?

James doesn't score enough, totally agree, but is a much better player than Oates.

He is a very very good player for our level. The only thing Oates is better at than him is shin rolling shots straight at the keeper.

Since when did you have a five year old nephew!?

Since approximately five years ago.

Surely he has only had a 5 year old nephew for a maximum of 364 days?

I don't know how Luke James went for five hundred grand a few year back and has already back playing non league a few times, That must off knocked his confidence to be fair to him, He pushed for the move and had that agent "advising" him I remember correctly, I bet if you would off asked him 2 weeks after his Peterborough Move "Where do you see yourself in five years Luke"?

He probably would off replied "The premier league" the way Peterborough where developing player's.

I think that's why he moved he saw his name in flashing l nights to early.
