If yesterday's starting eleven (with the exception of Davies coming back in for Anderson) is our "first team", where do you see Williams fitting in?

Unless we change the formation, the player I see as being most at risk is Woods and, on current form, he would be a tad unlucky to lose his place.

I'd agree. What a fantastic problem to have!

Questions like that seem to assume everyone is going to stay fit indefinitely, not to mention avoid suspensions. The good news is Bates doesn't have to rush him into the side.

As I've said before, Luke Williams has hardly played in the last 18 months - he hasn't stayed on the pitch in a league game for 90 minutes since March 2017. A few games for Pools coming on as substitute is just what he needs. All being well he'll soon be challenging for a start - and by then somebody else might be out injured.

Great to have the possibility of a forced change actually adding something to the team. When did last have that sort of depth in any position other than left back? Although that was depth in numbers not quality.

Why replace Anderson with Davies? He has done little wrong and the results speak well. With that formation of 3 at the back speed is more important than anything and we look much better as is.

With Newton, Dinanga, Hawkes als onot getting much of a look in Williams will have to get back to his best to make the starting 11. Great stuff.

Williams off the bench for Woods later in games would be good for now, then see how the season pans out.

Agreed with the above, you can't change a winning team, Davies should have to wait to get back in. However, I think it would have been a lot less nervy yesterday with him in the middle against their giant forward.

It might be good to rotate Davies in and out a bit. At this level most strikers seem to either be massive or fast. Against fast attackers Davies might be best on the bench, but we should start him against massive strikers. That way we might be able to manage his injuries a bit better.

Totally agree with what you have said there it wouldn't hurt to rotate Anderson and DAvies around specially with the injury he has has and considering his age 33 I believe? Keep him fit by rotating the 2 so he doesn't get no more injuries he's the best defender we have in my opinion and it will be a good problem to have for once 2 players fighting for one postion.

Good to have options all over the pitch for change specially up top with Williams, Cassidy, Dinanga, James ,Muir I'd like to see williams playing in the number 10 role behind Muir and James I seem to remember Williams driving forward a lot with the ball the last time he was here, A bit off creativity finally!!
