Only just realised it's our national patron saints Day.

Can anyone explain what the point is of a day dedicated to a Roman immigrant of Turkish/Syrian decent who apparently never set foot in England and reckoned hr slayed a made up creature?

Wonder why we don't have a load of Irish folk coming over and drinking John Smith's this time every year.

I'll celebrate it this evening by drinking continental lager while watching a Canadian band play live.

Supported by Drahla? Recommended.

That’s the one. Hare and Hounds in Brum. Great venue and just around the corner from me. Drahla were decent.

Hark at me. Super Cool MJ recommending a gig I’m attending.

Hare and Hounds! That takes me back a bit. I remember seeing The Drones play there. Cracking venue. I don't get to many Brum gigs but I did enkoy Supersonic festival at the Custard Factory last summer.

I saw Ought/Drahla at the Brudenell on Saturday. Enjoy.

Ought were fabulous. Great night out.

Gengahr on Thursday at the H&H too. Not bad for my local.

England really does need a national day. I'm pissed off at seeing everyone partying but us.
Not St. George's day though. That's just copying the Irish. Maybe we could have something like Stephen Hawking or Lemmy or Tommy Cooper day. Or something archetypically English, like drunken obnoxious twat day.
