You’ve got to love this government haven’t you?

It’s little wonder you get young black people growing up the UK with a chip on their shoulder about racism when stuff like this is going on in 2018. You couldn’t actually make up them trying to deport people who’s parents we sought out and brought here after World War Two to help get the country back on its feet, people who in most cases have lived here all of there adult lives, contributed to society and paid taxes. Its shameful no matter how it’s cane about and consequence of this awful ‘getting our country back’ backward Brexit mentality.

It is disgraceful but to blame this government is ridiculous. These people have been here since the sixties, their citizenship should have been dealt with back then. Incidentally, they haven't all contributed and paid taxes. Most have, some haven't.

I said ‘in most cases.’

I fully blame this government, Teresa May was the Home Secretary when the wheels were set in motion for this. Cameron created the Brexit mess, it’s an absolute shambles.

If it isn't the government to blame who is then ? As for taxes, very important to get that bit in," SOME HAVEN'T". Was going to ask how would you know, but I suppose you come across this in your work, so then you will be the ideal person to tell us just how many indigenous white people don't pay their taxes.

It's shameful and embarrassing, but not surprising given the current government in charge.

I wonder if these peoples parents would have came over to help in the UK all them years ago if they had been told oh by the way in 60 years time we're gunna try n deport your kids. Please come be a doctor in the UK though and help us.

The coalition and Tory government to appease certain voices ramped up their anti-immigration policies, which resulted in some people who have contributed to our country and see this as their home being told to go and live somewhere else. The Tories and other ruling parties have allowed these people to go on with their lives until now. It is nothing short of blinkered to suggest they are not to blame.

Yeah but it’s hardly the Tories fault about this coalition government it’s not as if May called a snap election that she didn’t need to....

It's like Socialist worker in here. Do you really think that the cabinet made this decision? The reality is there wasn't a decision, its happened because nobody flagged it up. That should have been a civil servant and could have happened under any government. To suggest that it was a conscious decision is just plain daft.

They wanted immigration numbers way down. They indirectly caused this by the climate they created.

Hmm. So Teresa May wasn't Home Secretary when Immigration Law was amended to remove a statutory provision which protected long standing Commonwealth immigrants? It was those pesky officials which changed the law?

Run that one by me again.

Maybe she was but it was a Labour government who gave the go ahead to destroy the records. The Guardian got it wrong again.

No maybe about it. She was.

And how one eyed can you be; when it's a Tory government, you blame the officials, when it's a labour government, you blame the government. Anyway, the existence of records didn't matter until the law was changed.
