Congratulations Accrington Stanley, showing how its done.

Would make a good pre-season friendly at the Vic, beat them to showcase our intentions for next season.

Doubt we would have the common sense to arrange a friendly like this though. If i was in charge I would be on the phone to Accrington arranging it now, but Pools as usual will wait until the last minute, and end up playing whoever can fit us in.

I,d be on the phone to Accrington as well asking if we could borrow their manager for next season!

I’m not going again until we play Accrington in friendly. Plus it will be a real money spinner.

You’re on good form lately Mr Horden, quite bonkers at times and like a parody of yourself but good form all the same

Mf Horden speaks a lot of sense a lot of the time, he deserves to have the odd eccentric outburst now and then.

The owner of the Rat Race pub is a Stanley supporter and i am sure he would accommodate all their fans

Just drove past the Vic and the queue for tickets is already past the Raglan club for this highly anticipated friendly against Accrington. BT or Sky will no doubt pick this up.

You may laugh, regardless of the fact that I'm proved right most of the time. What is wrong with good preparation? organising decent friendlies in some sort of structured way, rather than phoning around at the last minute trying to find some decent opposition to play , because , wait for it! everyone has already organised their friendlies. Some clubs will have already got games pencilled in for pre-season, don't see the problem to be honest, and Accrington Stanley would be an ideal fixture at home, for them and us.

With all that's going on at the club it's probably worth trying to get in touch and prod them in the right direction. Accrington Stanley are quite interactive on their Twitter as well so we could tackle the issue at both ends. Don't want to get to a position where Stanley aren't available.

I've spoke to the mrs, we can move a few things around, like the rabbit hutch and the slide, and i think this summer we can accommodate a friendly against accy in my back garden.

And how do you know the club havent already got friendlies pencilled in or does that not fit in with your negative outlook?

And no not "everyone has already organised their friendlies" at all.

Ideal fixture for Accrington? Im sure they cant wait to pit their wits against a shite Non League side, will set themselves up well for life in League 1 that.

That's great news Yubep, great to see fans coming together. I think we can all agree that this is exactly what the club needs to transition from one era to the next. Has anyone heard from Accy yet? I tried friendlies@accystan.aol.com but no reply. Anyone got their fax?

I'm keen to get an exact date for this crucial clash so I can book flights. Will Downing be playing?

Stew-Dow will be playing one half for both sides. Accrington and Hartlepool legend Jonny Maxted will be serving the Pink Gin at halftime.

Wouldn't dare wear glasses, have a beard and drink gin.

I cant wait till we lose our first game of next season and Horden then says "I was right, we didnt play Accrington in a friendly hence us getting beat, im always proved right"

Surely he'll wait the requisite ten years before he tells us he was right, plenty of wiggle room there you see
